JOB DESCRIPTION

The Information Technology Officer (TAG1> e ( is responsible for overseeing the office’s IT needs, including system facilities, maintenance and technical advice. He / She is responsible for ensuring that the established standards set by the DAI head office are met and that the proprietary activity solutions are fully functional, efficient and profitable. He / she provides support to users and manages relationships with external system support companies, as required.

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations, the ( e ) information technology officer will work in collaboration with the other members of the program team. As a result, he / she will ensure the proper functioning of computers and the connection to the appropriate internet network so that users perform their professional tasks properly. This includes reception, prioritization, documentation and active participation in resolving requests for help from end users. Problem solving may involve using diagnoses and helpers requesting follow-up tools and requiring the person to provide practical help in person at the office level.

MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Officer is responsible for the following tasks, but not limited to :

  • Maintenance and installation of the local network according to the choice of the project office network ( wiring, configuration of switches, TCP / IP network printing, Windows network and domain services on TCP / IP ) ;
  • Ensures Connectivity and maintenance of the WAN ( Internet connection, configuration and maintenance of services and devices ) ;
  • Maintenance of servers and server applications ( hardware integration, maintenance of Windows servers, maintenance and antivirus monitoring, backup services ) ;
  • Ensures Installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware and client applications ( laptops, desktops, MS Windows 10 Pro, MS Office suite, IBM Notes, general use and troubleshooting of O365, and installation and troubleshooting of antivirus );
  • Support and training of users of the system put in place;
  • Regular communication with DAI Head Office IT Operations team; regarding network, system hardware and software changes/problems/updates, user registration, updates and termination;
  • Provide assistance in the purchase and valuation of all technical equipment (including telephones, photocopiers, etc., in accordance with DAI IT standards and procedures;
  • Properly and regularly provide inventory of computer hardware and perform software audits;
  • Conduct IT assessments for beneficiaries and produce reports according to DAI procedures;
  • Prepare procurement specifications and SOWs for IT procurement according to DAI standards and review all IT procurement requests in the system;
  • Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures set forth in the activity’s Field Operations Policy Manual and DAI Operations Manual;
  • Performs any other tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate for this position must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline;
  • Have at least 7 years of relevant experience in IT management and network maintenance in an international organization; including relevant experience in administration, maintenance and user support of IT systems, preferably on donor funded projects;
  • Have experience in PC and server support and a good command of configuring the IBM Notes client, the Outlook client or O365 services;
  • Mastery of at least 3 computer applications, including word processing and databases;
  • Know the Windows Server and Windows Client operating systems and knowledge;
  • Knowledge of Windows network services: AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, printing and file sharing;
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery services, LAN and WAN physical and logical infrastructure principles;
  • Have knowledge of the range of diagnostic utilities;
  • Ability to research a range of IT issues;
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent communication in French, and mastery of English is a major asset.
