Target Hiring Salary: CAD $87,784 – 91,000 per annum (before taxes)

Target Start Date: Early October 2024

Contract Duration: Full-time, 16-month contract from early October 2024 to mid-February 2026

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the VP, Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Manager brings their comprehensive knowledge of the ways digital marketing and communications drives brand affiliation, engagement, and revenue generation to a global organization with a dynamic brand and mission.

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the implementation of the organization’s digital marketing strategy and annual digital priorities. You will manage the development, performance, and content of the organization’s global website and its eight domains. You will manage the organization’s international social media channels, creating schedules, campaigns, and content that drive engagement and conversion. You will work closely with Right To Play’s 21 National and Country Offices to support their digital marketing efforts, creating opportunities for alignment and synergy, and ensuring brand compliance. You will manage relationships with external partners and vendors, including with the organization’s web and media agencies. You will lead media buys, advising on campaign strategies and optimal spending allocations to maximize ROI. You will provide coaching and supervision for one Digital Marketing Coordinator and interns, collaborate closely with colleagues on the Global Communications Team, and support the organization’s fundraising, IT, Programs, and People and Culture teams to achieve their goals.

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded and experienced digital strategist who is as happy developing campaign strategies as they are thinking about website UX, developing engaging social content, and reporting on performance and insights. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with strong relationship-building skills and client service orientation who has experience working in complex fundraising organizations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

#1: Digital Platform Management (40% of Time):

  • Manage Right To Play’s International website, optimizing performance to increase traffic, engagement and conversions and improve user experience updating content; and supporting National Offices with the management of their domains as needed;
  • Implement Right To Play’s global SEO strategy and support National Offices to deliver local SEO strategies;
  • With the Digital Marketing Coordinator, implement Right To Play’s email marketing strategy, including developing acquisition campaigns and content, and providing training and support on platform and best practices;
  • Manage Right To Play’s international social media accounts, building Right To Play’s social media presence, engagement, and conversions through compelling campaigns, content, and partnerships;
  • Provide oversight for National and Country Offices’ social media accounts, ensuring compliance with brand, content, and account management guidelines;
  • Provide support for colleagues across the organization as needed;
  • Manage relationship with web development agency, establishing an annual workplan and budget based on organizational priorities and a focus on performance and security, and ensuring steady progress on priorities within budget parameters;
  • Work with IT and Fundraising teams to ensure compliance with AODA, CASL, and GDPR, and alignment with the organization’s goals.

#2: Campaign Management and Content Creation (30% of Time):

  • Provide strategic, creative and tactical support for organic and paid campaigns to reach new supporters and encourage existing supporters to deepen their engagement;
  • Collaborate with Fundraising Team on planning for digital acquisition campaigns, including developing and optimizing strategy, content, budgets, and results reporting and insights;
  • With the Lead Writer and Multimedia Designer, develop digital content that drives engagement;
  • Support National Offices with their paid campaigns, offering strategic advice, sharing best practices, and supporting reporting and analysis;
  • Monitor performance against benchmarks and recommend adjustments and strategies to maximize ROI;
  • Advise and manage on vendor procurement as needed.

#3: People and Partner Management (15% of Time):

  • Provide coaching and supervision for one Digital Marketing Coordinator;
  • Manage relationships and projects with key vendors including our web agency, media agency, and others as needed;
  • Provide coaching and supervision for digital marketing interns;
  • Lead a Digital Strategy Working Group, collaborating with colleagues across the organization to advance shared projects in an efficient manner, and to create learning and sharing opportunities.

  • Monitor and analyze performance of KPIs on a quarterly basis and provide insights and actionable recommendations for optimization that can improve ROI.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ESSENTIAL):

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in marketing, business, or communications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in digital marketing and social media management, ideally for a non-profit or social purpose organization;
  • Experience with day-to-day website management, including content updates and performance monitoring, as well as working with external agencies to deploy ongoing functionality and security upgrades and make improvements to UX and digital journeys;
  • Experience supervising and coaching direct reports;
  • Experience leading multi-stakeholder projects and/or working groups;
  • Experience managing relationships with external vendors and pro bono partners, including web and media agencies;
  • Experience managing project and campaign budgets and vendor procurement processes;
  • Experience implementing, measuring, and optimizing SEO/SEM strategies;
  • Experience developing compelling multichannel digital campaigns for the purposes of awareness, acquisition, and revenue generation;
  • Experience running a performance-oriented email marketing program, including experience with email marketing best practices, developing email campaigns that drive engagement and revenue-generation, automations, list monitoring and management, and insights generation;
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts, ensuring consistency of brand and tone, creating social schedules, and creating content and partnerships that drive engagement and conversions;
  • Experience managing digital advertising campaigns using Meta Business Suite, Google AdWords, Google Performance Max, and others;
  • Experience establishing metrics and KPIs to ensure successful outcomes; monitoring, analyzing, and optmizing performance; and generating insights and reports for internal and external stakeholder groups;
  • Experience with Meta platforms, X, LinkedIn, TikTok;
  • Experience with Facebook Business Manager and Google Ad Manager;
  • Experience using AI tools to increase efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Very strong written communications skills, including both writing and editing;
  • Detailed knowledge of website CMS and functionality – must be able to work with and lead web developers on bug fixes and small changes, but also larger projects and decisions with wider implications (ex: improvements to SEO features that align with the organizational SEO Strategy);
  • Knowledge of Wagtail, Django and/or Python;
  • Familiarity with Hotjar or website behaviour analytics tools;
  • Understanding of UI/UX best practices and how to improve user experience;
  • Familiarity with Click Dimensions, Mailchimp or other email marketing services;
  • Knowledge of Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or other social media management tools.
  • Familiarity with GA4, Google Search Console, Facebook Insights and other analytics software to generate insights;

LANGUAGES:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

BONUS IF YOU’LL BRING (NOT ESSENTIAL):

  • Experience working at an NGO, not-for-profit;
  • Experience with MCRM;
  • Experience with UX design, multimedia design, or video editing and production;
  • Experience in an international organization, working with/supporting different offices/chapters and in different time zones;
  • Proficiency in French, Arabic, and/or German is an asset.
