Salary: £37,000 – £42,000. Appointment at the bottom of the scale.
Duration: Two Years Fixed-Term contract with potential to move to a permanent contract
Location: London, Cardiff, or remote within the UK (Currently, all our staff are working at home and can attend offices on an optional basis. This situation is likely to continue until at least January 2022).

Elrha is looking for a highly experienced Innovation Manager to apply their skills in Elrha’s fast-paced and creative Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) and lead on the strategic development and delivery of the HIF’s thematic innovation focus area on the inclusion of people with disability and older people.

Our team of Innovation Managers is passionate about developing creative innovation journeys and managing their portfolios or innovation grants in collaboration with sector experts to identify the most pressing problems, analyse opportunities for innovation and design funding calls (innovation challenges) to address them.

You will need to bring experience and expertise in inclusion to provide technical oversight and effective management across this thematic portfolio of innovation grants while also fostering effective partnerships and providing non-financial support to grantees. You will also need to be a talented communicator who can engagingly facilitate workshops — both in person and remotely — and tell compelling stories about our innovations to achieve maximum impact within the sector.

This post requires an individual looking for a challenging role ready to take on this exciting and varied opportunity in a busy and ambitious team. You will lead on the strategic development and operational delivery of our innovation focus area on the inclusion of people with disability and older people. Therefore, you will need to demonstrate:

· significant experience in the design and delivery of structured, context-sensitive innovation journeys / processes, bringing ideas from conception to completion

· excellent communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders and audiences

· experience working on sensitive or complex issues, such as vulnerable or marginalised groups, protection, or disability

· ability to adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities as the situation demands

If you feel you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, please review the full job description for further details. Additionally, please ensure you complete the personal statement as part of the application process to explain how you feel you meet the requirements of the role and why you feel this is the next step in your career.

Covid-19 restrictions permitting, Elrha’s staff are usually based at our offices in London and Cardiff. While the preference is for the Innovation Manager to work in one of these locations, remote working may be possible for the right candidate.

Elrha is a global charity that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We fund and support projects that go on to shape how people across the world are supported during a crisis. We are based in the UK, but our roles have a global reach. We’re an established and respected part of the humanitarian community, working closely and meaningfully with our fellow networks and actors to make change happen.

We look forward to hearing from you.

We are committed to the safeguarding and protection of vulnerable people in our work. Accordingly this post is subject to a range of vetting checks, including a criminal records disclosure.

We recognise the positive value of diversity and promote equality, and are committed to improving employment opportunities for minority groups. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and disabled candidates, as BAME and people with disabilities are currently under-represented throughout our work. We also welcome applications from LGB and Trans and non-binary candidates.
