Instructional Designer At American Bar Association

American Bar Association – Rule of Law (ABA ROLI) Initiative is seeking an Instructional Designer to further advance the eLearning culture at ABA ROLI. The Instructional Designer will transform content from technical and non-technical teams into engaging and motivating eLearning opportunities for staff.

Scope of Work

  • Partner and collaborate with internal and occasionally, external subject matter experts (SMEs), to design and create high-quality, learner-centric, digital self-paced learning courses covering various topics. Courses must be created in Articulate Rise 360.
  • Review, evaluate, and analyze existing documentation to identify the most appropriate training approach, layout, and design.
  • Adapt established original written content to independently create scenario videos, and create content using sound instructional design practices for adult learning.
  • Create and integrate a variety of multimedia content, including but not limited to live-action videos, audio recordings, and animation.
  • Develop supplemental learning interactive content materials, as directed by the assigned SMEs, such as post-training surveys, user guides, quizzes, polling, resources and tools, presentations, eLearning content, multimedia visual aids, and other materials.
  • Work in close collaboration with the assigned team to align course design and execution to ensure consistency with previously established courses and lessons, receive and address multiple rounds of feedback, and finalize quality learning products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 4 years’ experience in designing trainings.
  • Extensive experience with Articulate is required. Experience using additional multimedia tools is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience managing instructional design projects independently and working cross-functionally with other technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
