ECPM (Together Against the Death Penalty) works to combat capital punishment throughout the world. The association encourages the universal abolition of the death penalty through advocacy with public authorities, strengthening abolitionist civil society, creating and distributing publications, supporting those sentenced to death, and educating on the abolition of the death penalty in France and abroad.
ECPM unites abolitionists around the world to gain efficiency and accelerate the movement towards the universal abolition of capital punishment. In 2001, ECPM organized the first World Congress against the Death Penalty in Strasbourg. This Congress triggered an international movement in favor of abolition, bringing together civil society, politicians and international organizations.
To strengthen its communications team, ECPM is looking for an intern in digital and event communications.
The missions
Reporting to the communications officer, the intern will carry out the following tasks:
- Be a driving force for proposing and implementing the preparation of editorial and visual content for social networks and their moderation;
- Support the production of the newsletter (experience with the Dolist platform is a plus);
- Help with webmastering (putting online and creating visuals, iconographic research for the ECPM site);
- Write news briefs and articles for the website, social networks and newsletter – Complete digital performance tracking tools;
- Support the association’s awareness-raising actions (Pride March, Fête de l’Huma, Actions in schools and in the press)
- Help organize events: logistical support, mobilization, etc. – Participate in awareness-raising actions: preparation, holding and dismantling of the stand, holding press conferences, etc.
- Support for promoting events on social networks and the ECPM website
- Participate in planning meetings of the organization’s communications department
- The intern is required to occasionally participate in other actions of the association.
Experiences / Training
Master 2 or Master 1 level in communication, journalism, webmastering, publishing or equivalent. Previous experience in an association environment is an asset.
SKILLS
- Very good writing and interpersonal skills, impeccable spelling
- Very good knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Ease in producing and using images suitable for social networks
- Good general knowledge and knowledge of subjects relating to human rights
- CMS management (WordPress) and coding skills appreciated – Knowledge of the steps for creating mailings appreciated
- Experience with the Dolist platform is a plus
Qualities
Writing skills, knowledge of the Web (WordPress) and social networks, rigor and responsiveness, resourceful, sociable, sensitive to the issue of human rights
LANGUAGES
Excellent command of written and spoken French, and great ease in English
