Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section is present in around thirty countries.
We are looking for a:
Intern – OCP Team Health Unit – Assistant – M/F
Assignment :
The Health Unit of the Paris Operational Center Teams (USE-OCP) aims to improve the health monitoring of national and international personnel deployed in OCP intervention areas. The Unit brings together the “somatic health” and “PSU” (psychosocial unit) entities. The team is composed of a coordinating physician, a nurse, a psychologist coordinator and several clinical psychologists.
MSF OCP staff health policies are defined with human resources, the medical department and the USE, based on the most recent health recommendations, in accordance with MSF’s medical-social care policies at the international level, in accordance with MSF’s “Duty of Care” towards its staff and in a manner consistent with MSF OCP’s HR and operational needs.
MSF is looking for an intern to participate in the preventive activity of the USE-OCP, more specifically to help manage the organizational aspects of the medical component of the preparation of candidates before a mission with OCP. The position is under the hierarchical responsibility of the Head of the USE-OCP (Dr Mathilde Berthelot) and the functional responsibility of the two nurses in charge of the health preparations of international staff and Dr Moctar Sanogo who supervise the intern on a daily basis.
Main missions :
Support for the management of the international volunteer departure alert system and the collection of data on departure preparations
Support for the management of documentation relating to preparations for departure:
- Management of certificates of no contraindication to departure on mission
- Updating certain HR data (LIGO) for each expatriate
Participates in internal and intersection communication, relating to preparations for departure:
- Updating and disseminating information for OCP departure preparation (USE-OCP website) to volunteers and headquarters
- Dissemination of information on preparation for departure to HR managers of partner MSF sections
- Communication with the contracting sections (responsible for the volunteer’s contract at the start) about the different stages of this preparation and other useful information
The assistant may be required to perform other tasks:
- Monitoring of new health policies (e.g. vaccination, quarantines)
- Consolidation of data from the field (e.g. vaccination coverage)
- Work on more efficient tools for data collection, statistics, reports

Profile sought:
Experience and training :
- You have a minimum BAC+4 level in HR, social, medico-social, international solidarity or other generalist profile.
Skills: Mastery of IT tools – Mastery of the Office suite.
Languages: French (C1) and English (C1)

Status: 6-month internship, with mandatory internship agreement. Based in Paris.
Conditions: The amount of the gratuity is between €4.35 and €7.70 gross per hour depending on the level of studies, for internships longer than one month. A meal voucher is awarded per day worked, with a face value of €11 (60% covered by Médecins Sans Frontières). 2 days of paid rest per month (for internships longer than one month). 50% coverage of the public transport subscription (no coverage of train tickets for residents outside the Ile de France coming to work in Paris).
