Context:
Background Information
The Treasury Division forms part of the Department of Resource Management and is responsible for the custody and investment of IOM’s cash resources and all banking relationships and services.
Treasury is responsible for all liquidity, cash management and investment management in IOM. Treasury is increasingly tasked to provide practical support and lead strategical development for banking solutions across IOM.
Supervision
Under the overall direction of the Director of Resources Management and direct supervision of the Chief of Treasury and in cooperation with other colleagues of the Treasury division, relevant Field Offices and IOM Headquarters, the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Assist Treasury to gather and analysis information from all missions related to their payment processing cycle, vendor management and the integration between SAP and various banking platforms.
- Assist Treasury with implementing Global E-banking User role and profile review.
- Assist Treasury with projects related to automating Treasury system functionalities.
- Assist Treasury with system testing for new functionalities within relevant banking platforms and Treasury system.
- Assist Treasury with providing technical and end user assistance to missions using Treasury systems and or Treasury administrated banking platforms.
- Assist in documentation on Treasury system and Treasury processes for end users.
- Assist Treasury with daily operations if required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief of Treasury.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
• University degree in Accounting, Computer science, Engineering, Treasury, or any related finance/IT discipline from an accredited academic institution.
Experience
• Some knowledge of the usage of a Treasury management system and Treasury functions;
• Some knowledge of payment types within a country;
• High level of computer literacy, excellent knowledge in Microsoft applications, banking platforms and notepad ++ an advantage
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds;
• Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines;
• Practical experience of how-to multi-task, prioritize and work independently;
• Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage;
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Arabic is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities;
b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; or
c) are sponsored by governmental/non-governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor;
d) are either students approaching the end of their studies and preparing a thesis, or recently graduated, who have less than two years of relevant working experience;
e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.
