Presentation of Asmae – Association soeur Emmanuelle
Asmae is an independent and secular association under the 1901 law recognized as being of public utility. It was created in 1980 by Sister Emmanuelle to provide protection and education to the most vulnerable children and young people in the world. Present in 8 countries: Egypt, Lebanon, India, the Philippines, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and France, Asmae supports local actors while also acting at the institutional level.

Specific context of the position
In compliance with the values and intervention methods specific to Asmae, and under the responsibility of the Expertise and Programs Manager within the International Action Division (AI), the intern’s mission will be to provide support for the management of multi-country programs, the promotion of quality and the monitoring and evaluation of actions in the different countries of international intervention.
In this context, he/she will work in the Expertise and Programs department in close collaboration with the department manager, the Education and Protection technical referent, the program and monitoring-evaluation officer, the gender integration officer as well as the private and public partnership officer. The intern will also be required to work with the Director of the International Action division as well as with the Missions and Projects department (2 people) as needed.
Missions
1. Support for monitoring multi-country programmes and for the development of new programmes where appropriate
Regarding multi-country programs, Asmae currently supports 3 multi-country programs: the Cap Jeunesse program, the Peace program and the J2A program – Jeunesses Actrices de leur Avenir. In addition, a discussion is underway on the possibility of developing new programs.
- Preparation of programmatic documents (review and consolidation of country information) and other documents (administrative elements, etc.)
- Support for the finalization of half-yearly country reports; consolidation of consolidated half-yearly reports
- Preparation and organization of the biannual steering committees (Copil)
- Support for the indicator monitoring process
- Support for documentation and strategic thinking on programs
2. Support for the promotion of Asmae’s work
- Synthesis and formatting of documents
- Preparation and writing of articles and other communication documents
- Support for the translation of documents internally and, where appropriate, in conjunction with service providers (interpretation, translation)
- Ad-hoc participation in meetings of certain networks
3. Support for the preparation of cross-functional activities and the promotion of expertise and quality
- Support for inter-country exchanges: working groups, steering committees, etc.
- Support for research work, documentation and reflections on key issues; development of technical notes and documents (thematic or cross-disciplinary approaches)
- Support for the mainstreaming of several approaches, including the approach based on children’s rights and the promotion of gender equality
- Animation of the PPIE, in support of the technical referent
- Support for the capitalization of good practices
4. Support for the animation of the monitoring and evaluation system
- Support for the implementation of the S/E system
- Support for the appropriation of the S/E system by field teams
Profile
Training/knowledge:
- Master 2 in the field of Development, International Relations, Political, Economic or Social Sciences or other relevant course (Asmae is open to any other initial training if the candidate meets the conditions below)
- Knowledge of project cycle management and development and international solidarity issues
- Knowledge of participation issues and the gender-based approach, monitoring/evaluation issues and childhood issues would be a plus.
Required professional skills:
- Good writing skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken French and English
- Proficiency in Pack-Office, ideally solid proficiency in Excel

Practical arrangements
Duration of the internship: 6 months
Desired start: End of January / beginning of February 2025
Working hours: 35 hours/week, with 2 days off per month
Internship compensation: in accordance with legal provisions
Others: 50% coverage of the Navigo subscription or sustainable mobility package. Meal voucher card with a face value of €10 (60% paid by the employer)
Teleworking : possible up to 2 days/week
Location: position based in Montreuil (93).
Internship agreement issued by a compulsory French educational or training establishment.
