For over 40 years, Action Education (formerly Aide et Action), an international association for development through education, has ensured access to quality education for the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, particularly children, girls and women, so that everyone can control their own development and contribute to a more peaceful and sustainable world.

Because access to quality education helps to combat poverty and disease, limit climate change and build peace in a sustainable world, we promote lifelong learning. We therefore pay particular attention to early childhood education and protection, access to and quality of education at the primary and secondary levels, as well as vocational training and social inclusion.

Basing our intervention on the values ​​of dignity, inclusion and integrity, as well as on the principles of action of transparency, accountability and solidarity, and thanks to the support of our 51,500 donors, we currently carry out more than 80 projects in 16 countries (in Africa, Asia and Europe) for nearly 1.5 million children, young people and adults.

It is in this context rich in perspectives, at the time of renewing its strategic plan 2025 – 2029 and in an organizational model in motion that Action Education is recruiting its future International Coordinator of technical resources.

Missions

Reporting to the International Director of Programs and Technical Resources, the International Coordinator of Technical Resources plays a strategic role in defining and disseminating the organization’s technical frameworks as well as in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Action Education projects and programs worldwide, more specifically in Africa, Asia, and Europe. He/she combines technical expertise in education with a solid knowledge of project management/coordination and study conduct methodologies. This position is essential to strengthen the effectiveness and innovation of the organization’s actions, in line with the organization’s overall operational strategy and ensuring their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Main responsibilities

Coordination and dissemination of knowledge and know-how

  • Manage the identification, centralization and dissemination of the organization’s technical resources.
  • Oversee the production of technical guidance documents, particularly those related to the thematic pillars of the organization’s operational strategy.
  • Identify trends, good practices and innovations in the education sector and propose their adaptation to local contexts.
  • Lead research and studies carried out by the organization in conjunction with country and regional teams.

Facilitate technical support for teams

  • Provide technical support to local teams in the implementation of educational projects (curriculum, teacher training, pedagogical approaches, etc.).
  • Ensure the integration of innovative approaches into programs, including educational technologies and participatory methodologies.
  • Identify relevant internal or external resources.
  • Provide training for field teams and local partners.
  • Analyze results and propose strategic adjustments to improve program effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Facilitate the integration of cross-cutting approaches within different programs and projects

Quality Assurance and Control

  • Manage and supervise the definition of the technical components of projects and programs, ensuring their adaptation to local contexts and the needs of the targeted people.
  • Ensure that the technical documents produced within projects and programs are of quality, aligned with the organization’s guidelines and international reference regulations.
  • Document key learnings and produce reports to share lessons learned with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support teams in developing tools and strategies to inform SERA quality indicators.

Contribution to internal dynamics and participation in the sector’s ecosystem in France and internationally

  • Participate in conferences, workshops and sector meetings to represent the organization and share the results of studies and innovations.
  • Contribute to advocacy with donors and partners to promote innovative and evidence-based educational solutions.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and partners to conduct applied research in the field of education.

Your profile

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate level degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development or other relevant field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role,
  • At least 5 years of experience in one of Action Education’s intervention regions, in development and humanitarian contexts, preferably in the field of Education

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in design and implementation of programs and projects
  • Proven skills in research and analysis (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Knowledge of technological innovations in the education sector (EdTech, e-learning, etc.)
  • Technical expertise in the education sector and ideally on pedagogies, gender and inclusion
  • Excellent command of project management and monitoring-evaluation tools
  • Ability to write high quality reports and publications in French and ideally, in English

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Sensitivity to cultural contexts and ability to work in multicultural environments
  • Flexibility, autonomy and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
