The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the International Website Product Owner in the UK (London or Remote) or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.
Role Purpose:
Save the Children is in the middle of its ambitious 2022 – 2024 strategic plan that looks to significantly increase our digital engagement with new and existing supporters to achieve our programmatic and advocacy goals.
Both raising funds and engaging with our supporters through campaigning in digital channels are key to delivering to the strategy.
This role sits within the Digital Public Engagement Team, a virtual team, which provides strategic support, specialist digital technical guidance and digital communications to our 27+ Members, most of them in Asia, Oceania, Europe and the Americas. This team also focuses on reaching out to new audiences and engaging with them in non-member markets.
The SCI Website is a very important digital platform for Save the Children to engage and communicate with the public, to drive campaign support and fundraising, and provide partners, suppliers, job seekers and peers with key information and resources from our organisation and its experts.
The SCI website is currently undergoing redevelopment, which aims to drive an increased number of people to the website, provide a fluid user experience and in turn lead to an increased number of engaged supporters, donations, improved brand awareness, and campaign support.
The International Website Product Owner will be the Strategic Lead for website, functionality, content, performance and overall web governance. The role will be responsible for the management of a high-performing global SCI website to deliver compelling experiences for diverse international audiences.
The post holder will develop and implement website strategies that will increase brand visibility, drive website traffic and achieve digital engagement and fundraising objectives.
This role will also be the key decision maker on items such as site and page structure, taxonomy, content, user experience, mobile experience, business function support, front and backend development, taking into consideration priority audiences as well as organisational needs.
We are looking for someone with strong experience on website strategy (Marketing, UX, optimisation, business objectives set up and reporting), web content production, and editorial knowledge.
The post holder will report directly to the Digital Communications Unit Lead and work collaboratively with the Digital Communications Manager, Digital Communications Officer, Non-Member markets digital manager, SCI Web Developer, Global Web Analyst, Global Trends and Insights Manager as well as other business functions at SCI that use the SCI global website as a communications tool.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Proven successful web leadership experience in an international organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven project leadership and management skills delivering business cases for complex projects and implementing them on time and on budget with a strong knowledge of all the relevant web KPIs
- Proven digital marketing and fundraising experience
- Strong knowledge of CMS management, preferably DRUPAL
- Strong knowledge of UX/UI design principles
- Knowledge of SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization
- Knowledge of Google web tools: GA4 and Tag Manager
- Proven experience delivering high-quality, impact driven web assets targeting a range of audiences
- Exceptional written communication skills in English, with a proven ability to distil large amounts of information
- A self-starter using initiative to see opportunities to achieve objectives in this role
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders, support their needs and manage expectations
- Significant ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt work plans flexibly depending on external opportunities
- A willingness to travel to support relevant events as required
Desirable
- Experience developing and uploading web content, ideally in multiple formats (copywriting, graphic, video)
- Experience in ahrefs or semrush tool
- Capacity to build and maintain excellent relations and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity
- Ability to articulate the work of Save the Children with passion
We can offer circa £60,000 per annum (If based in the UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National Terms & Conditions (including pay and benefits) will apply.
This role can be based in the UK (London or Remote) or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location for the duration of the contract.
