SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI teams – 3,200 people in total made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Main missions of the internship:
– Assist the Desk Programs Officer, the Accountability and Donor Development Officer and the Geographic Manager following the missions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Sudan in the execution of administrative tasks and the monitoring of missions and programs. Mozambique is currently still one of the countries monitored but will very soon be replaced by the Chad-Cameroon mission.
– Provide support to missions as a whole.
Main missions of the internship:

Main objectives of the internship:
– Assist the Programs Officer, the Donor Accountability and Development Officer and the Geographic Manager in carrying out the administrative tasks necessary for the management of missions and programs and in the operational monitoring of programs implemented in the field;
– Know the different programs and areas of expertise of Solidarités International;
– Know the humanitarian and geopolitical context of the areas concerned;
– Master the tools relating to project cycle management and the financing cycle;
– Master the internal procedures of Solidarités International and the rules of the main donors of humanitarian aid;
– Ensure the link and circulation of information between the different interlocutors (desk, headquarters, field).
Main tasks:
-Follow up on missions and requests from the field;
-Participate in the analysis of monitoring documents (retro-planning of reports linked to current projects, retro-planning of project proposals, APU (Activity Follow Up) of current projects);
-Participate in the review of project proposals and reports intended for donors;
-Ensure humanitarian and geopolitical monitoring and follow-up of current events in the desk countries;
-Implement capitalization tools: program sheets, operational maps, etc.;
-Manage the paper and electronic archiving of documents concerning missions;
-Participate in the expatriate briefing process;
-Support teams in drafting and completing various documents (ANO requests, CERFA documents, etc.)
-Ensure the proper capitalization of programmatic data from projects for MEAL monitoring
-Write the minutes of desk meetings (internal communication tool on current events regarding missions, programs and countries of intervention);
– Ensure the link with other headquarters departments (Management, HR, Log, Communication, Accountability and Partnership Development)
-Contribute to certain programmatic or technical projects
– Ensure the translation of various documents into English, French
Contributions of the internship:
– Discover how the headquarters of an NGO works as well as the relationships between the headquarters and the field;
– Discover the different professions of Solidarités International at headquarters and in the field;
– Have an initial approach to the functioning of a mission and its specific constraints;
– Understand the humanitarian and geopolitical issues of the Desk countries
– Deepen the concepts of priority analysis and needs identification;
– Understand the relationships between different humanitarian actors;
– Know the main requirements and procedures of donors;
– Understand and review certain project cycle management tools;
– Discover the strategic planning process of an NGO and the development of the strategy;
– Communicate directly with the field;
– Discover the strategy of an NGO and its development;
– Master the procedures of Solidarités International.
– Deepen technical knowledge related to the sectors of intervention of Solidarités International and participate in various sector briefing meetings.
SI will offer you the following conditions
Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Mairie de Clichy metro station.
Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
Compensation: 4.90 euros/hour
The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence during the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
Public transport covered 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Meal vouchers at €8.90/day of actual training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
– Higher education (bac +5 level) preferably focused on project management and/or humanitarian work, political science or international relations, with knowledge of water issues, food security or rehabilitation;
– Real interest and motivation for non-profit and humanitarian work – Willingness to go into the field in the short term
– International work experience appreciated
– Excellent writing, summarizing and spelling skills
– Critical and analytical mind, autonomy, rigor, responsiveness, organization, efficiency, versatility, significant work capacity
– Computers: Windows (Word, Excel, PPT); Internet and e-mail (Outlook)
– Fluent English
