1 GBV Specialist

Role purpose

1. The GBV Specialist to Regional Gender and Inequality LAC Regional Manager. She/He will To ensure the application of effective Programme planning, monitoring and evaluation principles; identify bottlenecks in GBV impunity, prevention and response in Haiti. devise strategies to address them and ensure application of a people-centered GBV programming and prevention.
2. Coordinate the development of research tools, jointly with the enumerators and moderators;
3. Support the field work and coordinate the organization of the collection, compilation and analysis of data and the dissemination of results.
4. Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in all aspects of activities planning, monitoring, and implementation

Expected Outcomes

1. Research tools elaborated, jointly with the field staff and Christian Aid REL team
2. Provide effective support to the field staff in the development of the field work through close supervision
3. Coordinate data management system during all stages of the research initiative.
4. Contribution to the reporting process of the research initiative.

4 GBV enumerators / Interviewers

Essential information

They report to the Gender Specialist. They will collect first-hand information and data from the community, and will make sure that the information is collected accurately, unbiased and transparent. They will assist the GBV specialist in the preparation of the interviews and FGD questions. They have the responsibility of accompanying the moderators in the conduction of the FGD and Semi-structured interviews. At the end of the data collection, they will have the responsibility of compiling and analyzing the data collected. The will collect quantitative data from the desk review.

Required experience and academic background

1. Bachelor degree in law, public health, social sciences or related field
2. 3 years of previous work experience relevant to the function of GBV at local, national or international context, of which two years in the field and having experience in the field of GBV impunity, or prevention, mitigation and response, broader protection or social work involving empowerment of women and girls, gender, child protection, mental health, counselling and working with survivors, humanitarian and development issues.
3. Applied experience in survivor-centered approach, GBV guiding and case management principles related to GBV programs.
4. Demonstrated knowledge in gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls and apply, promote and integrate gender analysis into humanitarian programming.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of and implementation of multi-sectorial responses to GBV impunity and support to other sectors to mainstream GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response.
6. Demonstrated knowledge and application of GBV prevention theory and appropriate GBV prevention and behavior change strategies.

Duration :

• 58 days over 4 months (Sept 2022 – December 2022) for intervewers
• 50 days over 4 months (Sept 2022 – December 2022) for enumerators

(2) GBV Moderators

They report to the Gender Specialist. They will be responsible for the for the qualitative data collection. Hence, they will be conducting the Focus Group Discussion and the semi-structured interviews. They will lead the process while the enumerators / interviewers will be taking notes. The moderators will also compile qualitative data from desk review.
