Our focus is always on building local skills and systems that last.

Position

Options is seeking a proactive training consultant to work collaboratively as part of the Management Services team for the purposes of providing specialist IT training support on Microsoft 365, with a specific emphasis on SharePoint.

The trainer position will be responsible for identifying the training requirements for the organisation and to provide SharePoint training (this may also include basic Microsoft 365 training) to the global organisation via Teams. The Trainer will need a good understanding of the SharePoint platform and have the ability to design and consolidate custom training sessions to support the organisation’s transition to using SharePoint platform for data storage. The objective of the training packages is to increase staff knowledge of using the SharePoint platform following our transition to SharePoint and Teams as our main source of storage for our organisational data.

Understanding of working with international teams will be key in identifying the best way to deliver training in each area based on skill levels and understanding. This would need to be tailored to each area/team/barrier accordingly. Work is required to understand the challenges being faced by our international and head office-based teams around knowledge, equipment and IT infrastructure which is preventing them from engaging with the new platform.

In 2021, as part of Options’ management of its projects and technical assistance consultancy inputs, the organisation has launched greater integration of online based tools to support its delivery. Led by the Management Services team, the organisation has rolled out comprehensive Microsoft 365 functions (including but not limited to MS Teams, OneDrive and most recently SharePoint). Due to the size of the organisation and the global nature of operations and projects, throughout the organisation individuals utilise the online platforms with differing degrees of difficulty and for different functions.

In order to strengthen our rollout of these platforms, as well as increase the uptake of usage across all country and programme teams, we are seeking a proactive and successful IT Trainer to identify gaps and barriers for usage by teams and individuals, develop a suite of training packages and deliver such packages.

Key deliverables which the Trainer will achieve:

  • Data Gathering and situation assessment of the current rollout of SharePoint and IT usage across the organisation, and development of a relevant and thorough training plan
  • Creation of tools and resources (which aligns to the training plan and situation assessment)
