Context & Mission

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The mission of the HR Functional officer is to support the successful integration of HR systems within MSF OCG for the determined The MSF movement is built around 5 operational centers supported by 24 sections and offices worldwide. MSF Operational Center Geneva (MSF OCG) is one of these centers.

MSF OCG employs approximately 450 HQ staff located primarily in Geneva with teams in Zurich, Dakar and Amman and another 6,000 internationally mobile staff located in 30 countries worldwide working across 110 of our humanitarian projects.

MSF, including OCG, has grown significantly over the last 10 years and until now the HR department has managed that expansion with ad-hoc tools and methods.

To better support the ongoing demands and better serve our global workforce, OCG has launched a transformative HR initiative with one critical pillar being the introduction of an HR Information System (HRIS).

This position reports to both HRIS Program manager and Head of projects and applications. The IT Business Analyst HR helps business to establish and implement business processes in our new HRIS based on Worday.

She/he animates workshop to gather requirements, structures and optimizes business process from standards, liaise with external integrator, ormanages releases and patches, and participates to projects.

Responsibilities

  • This position is in charge of the Compensation & Benefit, Time & Attendance stream
    • We have two other open positions, one in charge of “Core HR, On/Off boarding” and the other in charge of “Position Management, Recruitment & Matching”
  • Analyze current HR processes and systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Work closely with business in order to gather and formalize business requirements, business stakes, benefits, constraints, interdependencies
  • Ensure business process are aligned with standard proposed by tools
  • Document HR processes amd maintain updated process manuals
  • Liaise with external consultant and co-animate workshops
  • Build and apply testing strategy on his functional scope
  • Manage change request process (requirements, specifications, quotation, delivery, validation)
  • Liaise with the IT infrastructure and operations team to ensure the compliance with IT&security standards and rules
  • Deliver application’s technical documentation
  • Create and implement training programs for HR systems
  • Ensure HR data integrity

Your Profile

Education

  • Masters degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field
  • Project Management Certification preferred;
  • TOGAF, Design Thinking or Six Sigma certification appreciated

Experience

  • Proven experience as an HR business analyst or similar role
  • Previous involvement in large-scale HR system upgrades or migration
  • A track record of successful process reeingeneering within the HR function
  • Configuration of Workday could be a plus
  • Working with NGO or decentralized organisation

Skills/ Technical competencies

  • Strong knowledge in Human ressources management
  • Skills in HR application configuration and management
  • Culture of data flow, data storage and data usage;
  • Knowledge on test management method;
  • Final user oriented, capable of creating solution within the frame of project charter;
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology
  • Ability to adapt to change and successfully manage different stakeholder’s expectations;
  • Able to deliver in an international and multi-cultural environment;
  • Virtual collaboration capabilities;

Languages

  • Fluency in French and English is required, good written and oral communication skills.
  • Any additional language a plus;

  • Strong in building bridges between different disciplines and organizational levels;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and execute many tasks in parallel;
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce clear and concise written documents;

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time position 100% (40h/week)
  • Fixed-term contract, 18 months
  • Working place: Geneva, Switzerland
  • Ideal start date: As soon as possible
  • Gross annual salary (for 100%): from CHF 101’172.- to CHF 115’332.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)
  • Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.
  • Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member.
  • Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
