The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was founded in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help tackle climate change by fostering the development of a low-carbon society at the national, European and global level.
We support over 1000 partner organisations to carry out activities that contribute to the public debate on climate action, drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the Paris Agreement and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero emissions economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.
Context of the role
ECF growth and rapid transformation requires seamless and cost-effective digital workplace services for all its staff across different geographies. ECF has offices in the Hague, Brussels, Paris, London, Berlin, Warsaw, as well as staff working fully remotely in other locations. ECF staff has flexible working practices.
ECF has decided to reinforce its Digital Workplace (DW) team and capabilities.
About the role
As IT Senior Officer – Digital Workplace you are responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of the related IT services across all ECF locations. You are based in Paris (one of the largest ECF offices), and you are also responsible for the local support for ECF Paris staff. You travel regularly to other ECF locations. You will be reporting to ECF IT Director.
You have the ability to gather business requirements and to translate them into cost-effective IT services (DW), to create implementation plans, to analyse service cost, and to coordinate the implementation both with ECF colleagues and with external suppliers.
You are service oriented person with dedication to create seamless user experience. Ideally, you have experience in managing macOS fleet.
Key responsibilities
Working closely with the IT team, ECF business stakeholders (HR, Finance, Office management team, etc.), external service providers, you will be responsible of:
Digital Workplace (DW) services management
- Oversee ECF’s DW services related to end-user devices (laptops & mobile phones), IT equipment, network, cybersecurity, visio conferencing, printing, etc.
- Manage DW services through their complete lifecycle across all ECF locations
- Participate in the design, the implementation, the testing, and the improvement of the DW services, with a specific attention on user experience and cost-effectiveness
- Provide technical analysis for providers selection: benchmarks, performance, cost- effectiveness, constraints, etc.
- You are responsible for the inventory and the documentation related to DW services Managed services & Support process
Managed services & Support process
- Support the selection of external providers and the implementation of managed services
- Collaborate with external managed services providers on support activities and complex incidents/requests resolution
- Participate in the local support for the ECF Paris office, being the privileged contact for all IT support which requires local presence
- Monitor DW services performance (adoption, user satisfaction, SLA, etc.)
- Contribute to project delivery with internal or external resources (service providers, vendors, consultants, etc.)
- Contribute for the improvement of the overall IT Service Management setup, systems, and processes
Other
- Provide input for the DW services levels, relevant project, and related budgets
- You analyse, plan, and implement relevant cybersecurity activities related to DW services
- Supports the DW services adoption and change management
- Develop training material and deliver induction & trainings to ECF users
- Contribute for the writing of user guides, support documentation, and related internal policies
ECF’s DW services currently leverage on Office 365 capabilities, Kandji (MDM), Sentinel One, etc.
Experience and competencies
- University degree in technical field
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience (IT support / IT project delivery)
- Experience in managing macOS fleet (Apple MacBook) is an advantage
- Experience or certifications related to Office365 administration (SharePoint, Teams, EMS, etc.)
- Strong consideration of cybersecurity related matters
- Experience in international (remote) IT support context, is an asset
- Understanding of Agile principles
- Good active listening and communication skills
- Written and verbal communications in English, another European language is an asset
- Passionate about climate action with a genuine interest in the mission and values of the ECF

Location
This position requires approximately 2 days/week presence on-site (ECF Paris office) and includes regular travel to other ECF locations (approx. 10% of travel)
