ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The World Food Programme (WFP) works in Honduras to promote and protect livelihoods and human capital, addressing the root causes of hunger and poverty, and meeting the basic needs of the most vulnerable populations in crisis situations, in close collaboration with the government and other partners in the country. WFP has been present in Honduras since 1970, reaching annually about 1.5 million beneficiaries. WFP has a strong field presence, with offices and logistical structure in Tegucigalpa, Comayagua, Marcala, Santa Rosa de Copan, Choluteca, San Pedro Sula, Gracias a Dios, La Ceiba, and Puerto Lempira.

Considering that Digital Transformation is a priority for the WFP organization, the Technology Division must select the appropriate set of technologies (products and services) that will contribute to the improvement of our operations.

The IT Solutions Associate will be responsible for all technical aspects of the IT solutions as well as providing instructions, and guidance to relevant stakeholders.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide technical support on the development, maintenance, testing and implementation of a portion of IT solutions in line with business requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Write program code in order to support the development and implementation of efficient and effective IT solution components.
    2. Keep up-to-date technical systems documentation for developed IT solutions in order to support systems maintenance.
    3. Perform unit and integrated testing of new, enhanced or fixed code in order to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications.
    4. Assist in the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems ensuring compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
    5. Assist in the release of IT systems and provide early life support in order to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution.
    6. Resolve users queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered and accurate information is provided.
    7. Assist in the preparation of materials and the delivery of trainings on automated business processes to ensure efficient and effective use of IT systems.
    8. Collect and collate data, conduct basic analysis to support the development of accurate reports.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area (Technology field).

Experience: Six years of experience in a related area.

Language: Fluency in Spanish and working knowledge of English.

. Has aided IT team members in building technical skills and staying abreast of industry developments.

. Has gained knowledge of technical issues through exposure to IT operations.

. Experience in IT project management, software design and development (.NET Framework, Python), data base administration (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle), cloud storage, business intelligence (Power BI and Tableau), Windows server administration, Web Server (IIS, Apache) and Cybersecurity.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Position: IT Solutions Associate.

Type of Contact: Service Contract (SC-6).

Duration on Contract: 12 months with the possibility of extension, based on organizational requirements.

Duty Station: Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Position open to citizens of Honduras and legal residents with work permit.
