Junior Programme Officer (Food Security) At Estonian Refugee Council

Estonian Refugee Council (ERC) is a value-driven non-governmental EU-certified humanitarian organization. ERC was established 21 years ago and currently provides humanitarian assistance to displaced people and other vulnerable people in 5 crisis-affected countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Kenya) and different support services to beneficiaries of international protection in Estonia. Estonian Refugee Council works and provide help in Ukraine since 2014 year and now covered 9 regions with ongoing humanitarian projects and monitoring visits. Our Mission is to stand for the rights and well-being of refugees and other vulnerable groups in Estonia and abroad.

We are looking for Junior Programme Officer to join our international team!

Junior Programme Officer, based in Kyiv, Ukraine,Under the supervision of the Food Security Technical Lead, is responsible for the daily technical planning, implementation and reporting of food security activities, and for ensuring proper coordination with local implementing partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the team with designing and planning food assistance response.
• Contribute to food security assessment in targeted communities.
• Support the preparation of MoUs with local partners under the distribution of the food parcels.
• Assist in development and implementation of programme strategies, work plans including monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Train and support implementing partners to build food security strategies and meet the required international standards.
• Maintain data collection and response analysis tools, and prepare and submit reports on food assistance provided.
• Oversee administrative duties within the programme team including database management and grants administration.
• Closely coordinate with local implementing partners on provision of food parcels.

Key competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in food security, humanitarian aid, project management or another relevant field.
• Preferably previous experience in non-profit, non-governmental organization.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English, as well as in local language (Ukrainian and Russian).
• Solid organizational skills: detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Solid computer skills, including high proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
