DCAF – Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance is dedicated to improving the security of states and their people within a framework of democratic governance, the rule of law, respect for human rights, and gender equality. DCAF’s Cybersecurity programme, implemented by the Europe and Central Asia Division, aims to support good governance in cybersecurity. The programme contributes to making cybersecurity responsive and effective by working with cybersecurity actors from the public and private sector on improving law and policies, stakeholder cooperation and the effective provision and oversight of cybersecurity. To this end, the programme provides advice and research, organises technical trainings and workshops and organises stakeholder exchanges.
The Cybersecurity programme is currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual for its Belgrade Office Team to be our next:
Junior Project Officer– Cybersecurity Belgrade Office (100 %)
- Location: Belgrade, Serbia
- Starting date: as soon as possible
- Duration: 12 month fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension
The role
The incumbent will work with the DCAF project team in the DCAF Belgrade Office and report directly to the head of the DCAF Belgrade Office.
Key areas of operation:
- Contributes to the logistical organization of seminars and conferences;
- Provides organizational and administrative support related to the engagement of external expert advisers;
- Provides support in liaison with project beneficiaries and partners;
- Drafts a variety of project related documents (activity evaluations, activity concepts, fact sheets, etc.).
- Conducts research on project-related topics.
Your experience
- Recent graduate of a relevant field, such as law, international relations, security, peace studies, or political science;
- Excellent proficiency in English and one of the following languages: Bosnian/Montenegrin/Serbian, both written and spoken;
- Prior experience in assisting project management including financial aspects, and the organisation of conferences, workshops and training activities, is an asset;
- Prior experience in working on cybersecurity capacity building or researching cybersecurity or related subjects is an asset;
- Serbian citizenship or a valid work permit for Serbia at the time of application is a pre-requisite.
