About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity for young dynamic upcoming professionals seeking to obtain job experience in the field of knowledge management and learning (KML) while working with a motivated multinational team. The function is part of the Programs and Sponsorship department in the Country office that supports implementing partners and country programs to streamline the standardization of knowledge management and learning activities. The Knowledge Management and Learning Intern supports the implementation of the Kenya Country Office Knowledge Management Strategy and Learning & Adaptation Plan 2024-2026. He/She will support in ensuring established KML practices, processes and tools are followed to facilitate collaboration and learning.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the documentation and sharing information and learning from the country programs/project portfolio with stakeholders as necessary.
- Take an active role in supporting regular uploading of data and reports into the relevant online systems with the support of IT systems analyst.
- Work with MEKML Manager & Communication Specialist to prepare high quality annual learning products including infographics, project learning briefs, after activity reviews, case studies, success stories, most significant change (MSC)
- Support the preparation of progress review meetings to discuss progress, challenges and lessons learnt and develop workplans with the project team.
- Support launch, start up and close out workshops to disseminate stakeholders’ information related to implementation and critical learnings.
- Develop and update lessons learned and recommendations database/tracker from project evaluations and studies.
- Proof reading and editing of reports, books, booklets or any other type of publications/communications material;
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations, visual representations, infographics as required;
- Assist in the organization of webinars/conferences/events/forums;
- Support the team with other relevant tasks.
Required Experience and Education
- Be a recent graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Knowledge Management, Library Science, Communications, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized University. A letter of completion or introduction from the University will be required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with document management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
