Cesvi in ​​Venezuela

Since 2019, Cesvi has been working in Venezuela with initiatives in the field of protection of children, adolescents and women in highly vulnerable conditions, including survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation. As of 2021, Cesvi began implementing projects financed by the Country Humanitarian Fund in communities in Caracas.

During 2024-25, Cesvi will implement the project “Multisectoral humanitarian assistance to address the urgent needs of the most vulnerable people in Venezuela” which aims to strengthen the availability of protection, primary health and humanitarian assistance services to the most vulnerable people and communities affected by the crisis. Cesvi will develop its activities in the State of Falcón, based in Coro, and with frequent trips to other municipalities.

To meet these objectives, it is necessary to form a high-level technical team capable of providing effective responses to the populations served during case management; to this end, Cesvi is looking for a Social Worker to investigate the social context, family structure and dynamics, economic situation and support networks available for the reintegration of adult migrant women victims of the crime of human trafficking and gender violence, and based on said investigations, supporting the development of the Personalized Intervention Plan and the reconstruction of the life project.

Job Objective: Responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of protection with a focus on prevention in the area of ​​GBV, prevention, care and response to human trafficking and prevention of risks in children and adolescents and people in highly vulnerable conditions. The protection strategy will integrate individual and group activities, case management, individual and group psychosocial care and legal assistance on issues related to GBV, VSBG and child protection. Works under the direct supervision of the National Protection Manager in collaboration with the Field Operations Manager and other team members for the correct implementation of actions framed in the project.

Job Description:

• Lead the design and support the implementation of protection activities based on the project’s logical framework.
• Develop protocols, action plans and other documents aimed at strengthening the organizational strategy for the care of women, children and adolescents, and survivors of GBV.
• Develop a local and intersectoral referral pathway for GBV response, child protection and survivor care.
• Ensure that the development of protocols is carried out according to the established plan.
• Contribute to the identification and selection of the population to be served by the different components of the project.
• Contribute to the identification of governmental and non-governmental actors dedicated to serving the project’s focus populations.
• Provide technical, strategic support and guidance to the Field Operations Manager.

Case Management:

• Support case management processes by providing guidance and specialized assistance to technical teams to ensure the execution of action plans and proper care for the project’s target populations.
• Monitor case management processes, leading technical case discussion tables.
• Generate institutional alliances for the referral of cases.

Others

• Communicate in a timely manner to the Field Operations Manager any matter related to the safety of staff and beneficiaries.
• Continuously monitor community needs and changes and share relevant information on an ongoing basis with local coordination.
• Implement needs assessments in the area, supporting the identification of opportunities and risk factors related to the area of ​​their competence.
• Support, in coordination with the rest of the project team, in the logistics and administration of the activities.
• Prepare statistical and/or management reports according to requirements.
• Write and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Support in monitoring and tracking activities to ensure compliance with the program’s indicator goals.
• Participate in team and supervisory meetings.
• Participate in subnational protection cluster, ADR NNA and GBV meetings in the state of assignment.
• Participate in the training and exchange of experiences processes to which you are invited
• Other functions assigned by your immediate superior and related to the nature of the position.

Essential attributes

Training :

University degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law or Social Sciences with specialization or experience in gender, protection of children and adolescents, care for vulnerable populations.

Knowledge and experience:

• Minimum three (3) years in similar positions.
• Care for women survivors of gender-based violence and/or child protection.
• Experience in dealing with culturally diverse communities.
• Experience in the humanitarian context and knowledge of humanitarian architecture in the country.

Skills:

• Proactive and purposeful attitude.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a culturally diverse team.
• Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues, partners, local authorities and other stakeholders.

The position is exclusively for Venezuelans or those with valid documentation to work in the country.

Conditions:

• Location: Venezuela State. Falcon, Coro
• Contract duration: 3 months with the possibility of renewal, includes three (3) months trial.
