Position Title: Layout and Graphic Artist

Job classification: G-5

Duty station: Manila (Global) Administrative Centre (MAC)

Type of Appointment: One-year fixed-term, with possibility of extension

Salary: Php 631,953 per annum net of taxes

Context

Under the overall guidance of the Head of Migration Policy Research Division and the direct supervision of the Publications Coordinator based in Headquarters, successful candidate will be responsible in providing graphic design and layout services to the whole organization. He or she will also be accountable in ensuring that publications are in accordance with the IOM House style manual, layout manual and brand guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• University degree in Advertising, Fine Arts or a relevant field from an accredited academic institution, with 3 years of relevant professional experience; or
• Completed High Scholl degree from an accredited academic institution, with 5 years of relevant professional experience;
• Certificate in computer graphic design, an advantage.

Experience

• Professional experience in the field of layout and graphic design.
• Experience in working with printing companies, an advantage.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design;
• In-depth knowledge of and expertise in a wide range of Adobe Creative Suite software applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat, as well as Microsoft office applications.
• Knowledge of printing and colour separation processes, is a must;
• Creative flair and the ability to generate ideas;
• Familiarity with typography and typesetting preferred;
• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and a good eye for details.
