Local Infrastructure Specialist at CTG global

Overview of the position:

  • Under the direction & guidance of the Infrastructure Manager, the local contractor firm / engineers are responsible to conduct the site assessment visits to the initially proposed health infrastructure sites in Shan state (north, east & south).
  • The site assessment is mainly aimed to brief the local authorities & EHOs on the planned activities of the improvement of the health infrastructures under Takeda program, collect data for the design, costing & construction of health facilities in Kyethi & Monghsu townships in Shan south.
  • It includes gathering pertinent site information on particular health facilities and the sites to be assessed by the local contractor firm / engineers are provided as in the table below.

Role objective:

The particular objectives of the assessment visits are to:

  • Establish links with the local authorities, EHOs, health staff & communities through briefings & presentations on the planned activities as this is a part of stakeholders management.
  • Collect sufficient data through measuring, inspections, photographic records, interviews etc. for design, costing & construction in the selected sites.
  • Collect sufficient data on cost of labor, materials & equipment in Shan state, which is critical to build engineers’ estimates.
  • Discuss with local communities & brief them on the intended plans & seek their feedback.
  • Prioritize the list of proposed health infrastructure for new construction & for refurbishment.

Deliverables:

  • Complete the detailed list & information of the visited health Infrastructures.
  • Sites assessment report including prioritization & recommendations.

Time schedule for submission of the assessment report:

  • Within a week after completion of the site assessment.

Duration of services:

  • The intended commencement date for the service is in August 2021 (approximately) & the period of execution of the contract will be 21 days from the date of signing of the contract.

Project reporting:

  • This role reports to works under the direction & guidance of the Infrastructure Manager.

Team management:

  • This role has no team management responsibility.

Geographical experience:

  • Minimum of 7 year of experience in Asia (essential).

Key competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or any other relevant field along with additional years of relevant work experience.
  • 7 years of working experience in project assessment, design & management experience in rehabilitation projects & construction projects.
  • A previous experience in rehabilitation & construction of hospitals is an asset.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills is preferable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in the usage of computers & software packages (drawing software, structural software, MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) & advance knowledge of spreadsheet & database packages is required.
  • Intermediate level in written & spoken English & fluency in Burmese language is required, knowledge of any other local languages spoken in country will be desirable.
  • Ability to travel within Myanmar may be required.
  • Ability to work in remote regions of Myanmar may be required.
  • Good literacy with Google (“G-Suite”) products.
  • Experience with SharePoint, PowerBi, Outlook & Microsoft Office suite are desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills are an asset.
