General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of conflict-affected populations.

Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programs, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms. Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations, local initiatives responding to the humanitarian Syrian crisis with capacity development programs, to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities where we work in are ready for any future disasters.

Job purpose:

The role of the Logistics Officer is to provide logistic support to the ongoing projects, according to Orange’s policies and procedures.

The Logistics Officer will ensure effective management and communication within the projects and stakeholders. This position will report directly to the Logistics Coordinator in the headquarter.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  • Provide documentary justification of expenses to the accountant.
  • Set up and maintain a database of local suppliers, detailing criteria of quality, price, service, ethics etc.
  • Define criteria before requests for quotations are sent out, in line with Logistics Manual and based on input from Program.
  • Undertake quotations / offers or launch Calls for Tender.
  • Following up the Tender documentations and prepare all required documents
  • Draft supply/service Contracts related to Logistics
  • Check the condition and nature of goods received as required by the contracts.
  • Manage circulation, filing and archiving of procurement documents.
  • Establish tools for stock management, Manage stock movements and distributions of goods in the framework of project implementation.
  • Undertake periodic inventories.
  • Maintain safe working environments at Orange offices.
  • Cooperating with Local councils.
  • Any other tasks might be requested by the logistics manager

Essential Qualification:

  • University education degree
  • High-level of knowledge and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. is preferred

Essential Experiences:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position
  • Experience in NGOs is preferred

  • Very strong interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to establish a relationship of trust and respect
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation, with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn from others
  • Good knowledge about the market and about supply chine management
  • Good in Arabic and English; both written and verbal.
