Silk Road (SRO) is a Non-political, Non-governmental, and non-profit organization established in Aleppo city in November 2015 then it was registered in Turkey – Gaziantep in 2016 .
Silk Road works to take action to find creative solutions to the persistent problems of conflict-affected people in Syria and Turkey and to support the actions of affected and marginalized people and communities to overcome poverty and suffering more effectively based on complementarity and respect for the contribution that each party brings and upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
Silk Road cares about supporting vulnerable people in need via focusing on three main sectors currently which are Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)and Food Security, Early recovery and Livelihood (FSL), in addition to the good experience we gained through the implementation of many projects in other sectors such as Education, Protection, Early recovery and Shelter and Non-food items.
All Silk Road’s activities are guided by the four humanitarian principles: Humanity, Neutrality, Impartiality and Independence, and these principles provide the foundations for humanitarian action and govern the conduct of all humanitarian workers at Silk Road.

Silk Road Organization is looking for Logistics Assistant to join our team to sourcing and purchasing the materials, equipment, and services that our organization needs to function effectively. and work with vendors, contractors and suppliers to ensure that SRO organization gets what it needs in a timely fashion, also be tasked with tracking inventory levels, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1-Contribute to managing the inspection, shipping, handling, and packaging of supplies and equipment.
2-follow up purchases requests in accordance with the approved procurement plan.
3-contribute to announce tenders and prepare the tenders book.
4-receiving inventory and issue supplies and equipment inside Syria.
5-contribute to evaluating bids and proposals submitted by potential suppliers.
6-prepare inventory reports and correspondence inside Syria.
7-support the Procurement and Supply Chain Officer.
8-keep track of all goods and services ordered and received, and maintain accurate inventory records including details on price.9-performance, and delivery, pricing goods/materials/requirements/goods/service etc. and share them with other relative projects departments to be used when they will design proposals.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
1.University degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience.
2.Minimum two years of experience in supply chain and procurement.
3.Good knowledge of English.
4.Ability to adapt to changing requirements.
5.Ability to work independently and in a team.
6.Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with the team, beneficiaries, and other agencies.
7.Ability to analyze and interpret competitive bids and quotes, technical procedures, and regulations.
8. Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels.
8. Good report writing skills.
10. Dynamic, creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner, self-motivated, and hard-working.
11.The ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word.
