Job Summary
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to ensure the successful establishment and ongoing operation of our new training and research facility in Antalya, Turkey. The ideal candidate is proficient in both Turkish and English, to facilitate seamless communication and coordination across our diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Management: Oversee all aspects of establishing and maintaining our new research site and animal facilities. This includes the initial site construction, supplies acquisition, vendor relations, and ongoing operational support. Ensure that all ongoing logistical operations are executed smoothly and efficiently.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the research team (English and Swahili-speaking) and external partners, ensuring effective communication in both Turkish and English.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment and site facilities. Prepare and manage reports and documentation related to program logistics.
- Financial Tracking: Monitor and manage the budget for local project operations. Maintain accurate records of expenditures and provide regular financial reports.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any logistical issues or conflicts that arise during research operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with researchers and other team members to ensure alignment and timely execution of research objectives.
Your Profile
- Residing in the Antalya area with flexibility for traveling within Turkey.
- Fluency in both Turkish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- At least 2 years of experience in a logistics or coordination role, preferably within an international or research context.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with logistics management software and tools; proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
- Demonstrated ability to address and resolve logistical challenges efficiently.
- You are flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
- A strong passion for humanitarian work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a research or scientific environment.
- Knowledge of search and rescue operations or related fields.
- Experience with international travel and cultural sensitivity.
