Through innovative health programs and evidence-based advocacy, we empower marginalized people and communities to take action and claim their right to health while fighting for universal access to care.

Present in Haiti since 1996, MdM Canada implements humanitarian and development projects in the departments of Ouest, Nippes and Nord-Ouest. Its operations primarily target access to primary health care, sexual and reproductive health and rights, response to epidemics (cholera) and mental health.

OUR CHALLENGE

The Logistics Coordinator directly supervises the base logisticians and all personnel in the logistics department. The incumbent is responsible for supporting, directing and coordinating the logistical aspects of MdM Canada’s mission in Haiti while ensuring compliance with logistics procedures. This person is also responsible for the deployment of supply tracking software in the field and training the team.

Your main tasks will be as follows (non-exhaustive and evolving list):

  • Develop, update, standardize and ensure the application of logistics procedures including procedures specific to emergency projects
  • Support project closure and ensure compliance with donor requirements
  • Facilitate the delivery of medical supplies and/or other goods purchased in Port-au-Prince to other project areas
  • Identify and deploy supply tracking software
  • Develop logistics tools, particularly in procurement and warehouse management, and ensure their implementation
  • Initiate and support disaster response operations and disseminate MdM Canada’s emergency response procedures manual
  • Manage customs clearance of MdM Canada cargo shipments in Haiti
  • Ensure that all documents (purchases, inventories, donation certificates, tax exemptions, etc.) are in order and compliant
  • Oversee the production of distribution reports for partners and donors
  • Ensure the proper management of framework contracts and relations with various suppliers
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of the team of logisticians, drivers and day laborers in support of the department’s receiving and/or shipping operations
  • Train logistics department staff in the use of various tools, including procurement software, and in the proper management of the vehicle fleet
  • Represent your department at internal and external coordination meetings
  • Oversee the operation of the supply chain as well as the management of warehouses, vehicle fleet, IT equipment and generator set
  • Update and verify weekly inventory reports
  • Define the equipment and maintenance needs of MdM Canada residences and offices in Haiti
  • Develop an annual country-level procurement plan and ensure its compliance

OUR OFFER

  • Unaccompanied Expatriate Position Based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
  • 6 month contract with possibility of renewal depending on financing
  • Take up position as soon as possible
  • Remuneration according to the MdM Canada salary scale (from $63,750 to $86,250 CAD annually)
  • Monthly expatriation allowances according to MdM Canada policy
  • Rest period (R&R) according to MdM Canada policy
  • 4 weeks of vacation per year
  • Insurance (medical expenses, repatriation and pension provision)
  • Accommodation in individual apartment

YOUR PROFILE

  • Diploma or training in the logistics sector (purchasing, transport, etc.)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent position, including 2 years in an NGO
  • Technical experience in logistics (supply chain, inventory management, equipment management, fleet management, planning, etc.)
  • Experience in coaching and team leadership
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs and proficiency in supply software
  • Excellent oral and written communication in French (English and Creole an asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a difficult security environment
  • Versatility, adaptability, practicality, autonomy and organizational skills
  • Honesty, patience, diplomacy, listening skills, teaching skills and a sense of humor
  • Compliance with general and security internal rules and procedures
