Logistics Coordinator, Nea Kavala, Greece – A Drop in the Ocean At A Drop in the Ocean

We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Logistics Coordinator to manage A Drop in the Ocean´s (DiH) overall logistics at the location of Nea Kavala.

Responsibilities

· Management of A Drop in the Ocean´s overall logistics at destination, such as warehouse and distributions of food and non-food items (NFI) to meet DiH needs.

· Management of DropShop at the destination

· Supply-chain management for DiH projects at destination in communication with relevant coordinator.

· Supervision and training of volunteers engaged in area of responsibility (in communication with relevant coordinator).

· Supplier / Donor relations – ensuring smooth/ good relations.

· Fleet management.

Tasks

· Continuous overview of needs at location (incl. when necessary, needs assessment, SPHERE Standard compliant).

· Sourcing / procurement / receiving of donations, always appropriate to the needs.

· Implementation of logistics-work-oriented best-practices, ensuring smooth and efficient work.

· General warehouse management, ensuring appropriate human resources are directed for objectives to be met.

· Distribution management, including planning, communicating to camp community, being accountable to the population and ensuring feedback mechanism is upheld.

· Operation of DropShop when relevant.

· Coordination of volunteer/ intern work in area of responsibility (in communication with relevant coordinator).

· Ensuring relevant databases(Teams, BoxTribute) are continuously updated and GDPR compliant.

· Ensuring M&E data collecting tool for area of responsibility is always up to date.

· Reporting to line-manager (Site Coordinator).

· Other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications

· University degree in Business Administration, supply chain management or a related field and/or

· 6-month Experience and within supply chain management and warehouse management

· 6-month Experience of donation procurement

· Understanding of database/spreadsheet management and maintenance

· Fluent in English, preferable with knowledge of Greek (knowledge of a language such as Farsi/Dari, French, Arabic, Somali would be an asset)

· Good collaboration and team work abilities

· Strong knowledge and understanding of the refugee/humanitarian context in Greece

· Service minded and experience with problem solving

The Logistics Coordinator will work full-time in Nea Kavala (Kilkis-Greece)

All Coordinators with A Drop in the Ocean are travelling on their own responsibility, and must be able to contribute for at least 3 months. The successful candidate will be hired on a Greek contract for three months with the possibility of extension. A valid driver’s license is necessary to be considered as a Coordinator. All field workers of the organisation must be above the age of 25 and have to provide with a valid police certificate. Insurance including travel and health is mandatory for all field workers.
