Logistics Manager – CAR At Tearfund

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our CAR Programme for an experienced Logistics professional to lead the Logistics function of our programme.

The Logistics Manager (LM) is responsible for the logistics function as a country logistics coordinator in a Tearfund operational programme for the whole area of intervention in the country .

The LM manages the logistics staff at the programme head office plus at the project site with the responsibility for setting up and implementing a coordinated logistics function in support of the programme.

Covering supply chain, asset management, transport, communications and office/accommodation infrastructure, the LM ensures policies and procedures are known and complied with. As part of the programme’s Senior Management Team, the LM contributes to strategic decision making and shaping the overall strategy of the programme.

The successful applicant will have:

  • substantial experience in Logistics Management in an INGO overseas, preferably in a similar operating context.
  • Experience in supply chain, asset and vehicle management, estate management and procurement.
  • Knowledge of communications and technical equipment, and experience managing staff.
  • The ability to manage their own workload, work to strict time-frames and deal with complex issues.
  • Degree and/or appropriate equivalent with BIOFORCE training in Logistic Management or other trainings in Country Logistics Management
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Cross-cultural skills, strong written and communication skills and the ability to relate well to people.
  • Fluent in French with a good Working English .

This role will involve training and development of national staff in the Logs function.
