Logistics Officer – Burkina Faso & Niger At SoCha LLC

Company Profile:

SoCha, LLC is contracted to provide Monitoring, Reporting, and Capacity Strengthening (MRCS) support to complement and augment USAID Senegal’s Sahel Regional Office (SRO) performance management of activities within its portfolio. MRCS will support Sahel Regional technical Office (SRTO), Sahel Regional Program Office (SRPO), the Niger Mission, the Burkina Faso Country Office, the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) Resilience Food Security Activities (RFSAs) in Niger and Burkina Faso.

The positions will be full time: one will be based on Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and the other in Niamey, Niger.

Scope of Work

  • Oversee all logistical activities on the project.
  • Plan and support all logistics for field activities, and other project activities.
  • Ensure effective operations by coordinating with drivers, venues, suppliers, activity-specific logisticians, etc.
  • Mobilize personnel and consultants by arranging travel and accommodation.
  • Maintain and update the project’s calendar of the activities.
  • Collaborate with technical and program teams and staff to draft contracts with vendors and service providers related to logistics.
  • Provide support to the procurement and operations Specialist.
  • Oversee all operations activities on the project, and ensure compliance with relevant procedures related to travel, as well as aligning with SoCha and USAID policies and regulations.
  • Foster and manage all relationships with vendors and service providers and ensure compliance with the terms of their contracts or service agreements.
  • Support the Security Specialist in ensuring the safety of the staff in the office and in the field.

The tasks outlined above are indicative, but not exhaustive for the role and other tasks may be assigned by supervisor, the Chief of Party or their designee.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience serving in a related position, overseeing logistics, preferably including non-permissive environments.
  • Strong understanding and experience in coordinating security for field teams in non-permissive environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID procurement rules and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proven capacity to take initiative and willingness to learn new skills as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in negotiating vendor contracts (including price levels, terms of delivery, etc.).
