BRAC Liberia is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:

Manager, Budgeting and Reporting

To strengthen the finance team interims of Budgeting, financial planning/ analysis and related reporting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of BRAC Liberia Microfinance Company Limited planning and budgeting process
  • including the development of the budget manual and templates, creation of tools to develop work plans, work with programs/departments and head office in developing budgets, and reconciliation of budgets with operational and organization Annual Strategic Plan (ASP).
  • Ensure compliance with current budget and spending policies, and propose improved policies and systems regarding spending guidelines, cost savings, cost allocation, and annual planning relevant for Microfinance business.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, regular financial reports and analysis forecasting or trending budget performance and institutional financial positioning for Head of Finance, Country Management, Board and other stakeholders.
  • Work with the entire finance team to streamline internal financial planning and reporting processes to deliver more efficient, more effective, and more useful reports and analysis in terms of cash flow forecasts, treasury management, performance, and financial positions reports.
  • Apply analytical procedure and ratio analysis on tax related matters, audit and MIS (Management Information Systems) related functions for lender`s reporting, regulators requirements, statutory organs and other stakeholders
  • Transmission of monthly accounts to BRAC International, Head Office, Country leadership and specific program anchors as required
  • Work closely with BRAC International head office and design capacity building programs in the country including risk management aspects, planning, budgeting and reporting.
  • Identify the key business drivers of results, assigning the proper economic cost to capital investment or financing costs, participating in investment decisions and financial statement analysis
  • Perform other related duties are guided by the supervisors

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Masters (MBA) will be an added advantage.
  • CPA/ ACCA or any local recognized accounting profession
  • Atleast 3 years in managerial role of which at minimum 1 year mainly involved in financial budgeting,
  • analysis and financial reporting.

Required Competencies and Skills:

  • Good knowledge on BRAC operations and financial planning, budgeting and related procedures especially in Microfinance business.
  • Computerized accounting skill.
  • Knowledge on IFRS and IAS
  • Skills to prepare financial budgeting and other statements for the company
  • Knowledge on donor related projects collaborating with Microfinance organizations
  • Experience and knowledge on Banking rules & regulations to ensure smooth international transfers in and out of the country from/ to lenders, shareholders, head office and other financial agencies.
