About the position:

Strategic Partnerships is a department within the Development team primarily responsible for stewarding Americares financial relationships with corporate, pharmaceutical and public donors. This team has a revenue goal of approximately $20M annually, and additionally brings in over 400M in donated medicines and medical supplies.

The Strategic Partnership Team is responsible for originating and stewarding Corporate and Foundation Partnerships in order to secure support for Americares ongoing international and domestic programs. Depending on your specific role; you may be directly responsible for leading enterprise accounts, cause marketing accounts, brand, sports /entertainment/casino/ gaming; AERP or other disaster fundraising or as directed by the DSVP or current leadership. The SP team is an integral part of the broader development division, and this position will be part of our efforts to broaden Americares base.

The Manager will cultivate and steward primarily pharmaceutical, medical supply and consumer products manufacturers to support the sustainability and growth of Americares programs and operations.

Key Outcomes:

In the first 90 days, the Manager will develop a deep understanding of Americares work and the Strategic Partnership team’s processes. They will begin to establish relationships with key donors within their portfolio and develop an understanding of WHO/PQMD guidelines, expiration dating issues, health challenges and other humanitarian supply chain issues.

In the first 6 months, the Manager will continue to develop and strengthen their relationships with key donors in their portfolio. They will also begin to identify new high volume, high impact relationships through prospecting, networking and research.

In the first year, the Manager will have brought on three new donors and have at least one corporate or foundation partner that has signed on to support Americares programming. They will also have attended conferences on behalf of Americares and have developed plans and strategies for prospecting for future conferences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate gifts-in-kind and financial support of donors to support Americares international and domestic programs including emergency response and Americares general operating needs.
  • Develop and submit strategic proposals and cyber-grants for both in-kind and financial support.
  • Maintain strong and open communication with donors and respond promptly to product and financial reporting needs on monthly, quarterly, annual or ad hoc basis.
  • Work with Americares programs teams to advocate and develop strategies for placement of product and development of new product-recipient partnerships.
  • Work with Americares Operations & GIK Processing department on distribution, placement of sensitive donations, assignment of values to in-kind donations and other logistics issues including acquiring documentation necessary to distribute product.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Up to 20% of travel will be required (client meetings, team meetings, conferences and home office visits, etc.).

We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of professional fundraising/development experience, with a clear record of achievement in a complex, mission-driven organizations
  • You have knowledge and experience working within the pharmaceutical sector (highly preferred)
  • You have a demonstrated ability to balance priorities during high pressure situations.
  • You have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • You are an excellent collaborator and excel at working across teams and departments.
  • You have language in at least one of our core languages: Spanish, Tagalog, Hindi, Kiswahili, Haitian Creole (this would be a plus, but is not a requirement)
  • You have US work authorization (required)
