MEAL Assistant at Save the Children

MEAL Assistant (Only South Sudanese national to apply)

The MEAL Assistant will be a part of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team, supporting implementation of the overall MEAL system.

He/ she will be responsible for conducting quality monitoring visits against Quality Benchmarks; Support the program team to appropriately report on indicators thought the Output Tracker (OT) and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTTs) of SIDA project in the designated area;

He / she will support the programme team to ensure learning and accountability systems are working effectively in the areas of operation including routine collection of feedback from beneficiaries.

The assistant will have a responsibility in ensuring data is stored appropriately in a central location that is accessible to program and MEAL staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in project management or data management related field
  • Previous relevant experience, such as data collection and analysis, reporting
  • Familiarity with project management cycle.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and data analysis
  • Commitment to and understanding of SCI vision, mission and values
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, self-confidence, and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and can work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability in community mobilization and community-level dialogue
  • Strong skills in excel and other data management software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
  • Qualified graduate teacher.
  • Experience in teaching -training and training of trainers.
  • Experience in teaching at primary school level and school principals.
  • At least three years management experience, including staff management and budget management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Experience working through systems of community participation
  • Strong representation , advocacy and communication skills

Essential

  • Adaptability and flexibility

  • Computer Skills – word and Excel

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in humanitarian programmes
  • Experience in knowledge and database management
  • Experience in data management software

Contract Duration: 11 months with possibility of extension depending on funding.

Location: Kapoeta/Eastern Equatoria South Sudan
