MEAL Coordinator (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) At Yoga and Sports with Refugees

Yoga and Sport With Refugees (YSR) was born in October 2017 on the island of Lesvos, Greece, in response to the massive need for healthy safe spaces, the sense of community and a place to work on mental and physical health. In September 2020, we expanded to Athens. Through cooperation with Habibi.Works and KOIZ Centre for Postcolonial Studies, we started Habibi and Sport with Refugees in Ioannina in 2021 and last summer we started our project in Paris. Every day we offer more than 10 different sports activities to approximately 200 people. Our model is unique with over 70 of our past and current coaches coming from a refugee background.

We are looking for a new coordinator to be able to commit for at least 6 months but preferably more, to work on Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). The position is preferably to be filled οn Lesvos. Also, this position is ideal to gain crucial knowledge and experience for working in the NGO sector.

The MEAL team in YSR works continuously to expand and upgrade our data collection, data analysis, and data visualization. Our activity includes a close collaboration with the fundraising department, the communication department and on-the-ground teams. The coordinator will be responsible for the effective operation of the current M&E system, addressing the specific needs of our four projects, conducting the evaluation of our work, and defining the learnings from it. The coordinator will lead a team of interns, facilitate meetings, and take ownership of the project.

Compensation:

  • The salary is €950 gross, in accordance with Greek legislation.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining and improving our quantitative data collection databases.
  • Responsible for our qualitative data collection
  • Responsible for reviewing and updating our M&E indicators
  • Provide technical and methodological support to programs for the implementation of M&E across our 4 locations
  • Prepare and facilitate weekly M&E, and Finance and Fundraising meetings
  • Supervise M&E interns
  • Responsible for Impact assessment and weekly/monthly reporting.
  • Conducting surveys, focus groups or interviews
  • Responsible for our feedback and complaint mechanism
  • Take additional responsibilities to be defined with the team

  • 6 months minimum commitment, but ideally more
