MEAL Manager Ukraine* At Welthungerhilfe

The position is open for Ukranian nationals only and to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. The employment location will be Kyiv, Ukraine.

Alliance15 members Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Concern Worldwide and Cesvi are working together in Ukraine using their combined resources and reach, to ensure a quick and effective emergency response to assist the crisis-affected population. This response, known as JERU (Joint Emergency Response Ukraine), is working inside of Ukraine to support conflict affected communities. As a MEAL Manager for our Joint Emergency Response Ukraine (JERU), your aim will be to provide MEAL support to our programme or projects in Ukraine.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the MEAL Coordinator to set up and manage JERU MEAL systems, including strengthening the MEAL global structure, developing and monitoring the progress of the MEAL strategy and MEAL Plan, as well as supervising activities of the wider MEAL team.
  • Support the MEAL Coordinator to elaborate MEAL plans for each new project and update existing MEAL plans at the mission level
  • Participate in program design and proposal discussions, including support on the theory of change development, log frame design, need assessment planning, and budgeting for MEAL
  • Supervise and support MEAL Officers and the CRM Assistants in their weekly routine tasks
  • Ensure that MEAL activities are conducted according to established MEAL Plans and project or donor deadlines
  • Design data collection tools, methodologies, and plans based on the mission’s needs
  • Conduct analysis and produce monitoring and assessment reports based on data collected and support organization of learning events to share lessons learned and foster adaptive management
  • Ensure that monitoring data are fed into management decisions and used in program management through participation in regular project review meetings
  • Work with the MEAL departments of local partners to ensure effective monitoring systems and tools are in place and provide technical advice and support where needed
  • Organize regular reflection moments with local partners to share monitoring findings and recommendations and support a process of capacity building
  • Support the MEAL Team in establishing, operating and reporting on the Complaints Response Mechanism (CRM) for the mission

Your profile

  • Ralevant professional qualification/formal vocational training with additional qualifications (e.g technician, vocational college)
  • Over 5 years of job-related professional experience
  • Strong MS Teams skills
  • Willingness to travel within Ukraine
  • Fluency in Ukrainian
  • Russian and or English language skills are an asset
