JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities within MedGlobal. This role involves designing and managing data collection tools, ensuring accurate and timely data reporting, and supporting the analysis of data to improve program effectiveness. The candidate will work closely with field teams to gather information, design surveys, and use platforms such as KoBo Toolbox for data collection. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with humanitarian standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring and evaluation processes. The role requires native Arabic proficiency, with a basic understanding of English, and experience working with Microsoft Office applications and data collection tools.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collecting data related to the implementation of project activities and performance indicators and entering them through approved forms and databases.
- Conducting field visits to monitor the implementation of project activities based on the monitoring and evaluation plan.
- Assisting in designing questionnaires and forms for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Following up on the application of accountability standards in projects.
- Collecting data and conducting interviews with various beneficiaries and stakeholders to verify the level of satisfaction and follow up on resolving complaints of beneficiaries.
- Assisting in assessing needs by conducting a field survey during the project design period.
- Preparing periodic monitoring and evaluation reports and sending them to the monitoring and evaluation Senior Officer.
- Ensuring the effectiveness of the accountability mechanism towards beneficiaries, along with direct supervision of the hotline, by analyzing beneficiaries’ complaints and submitting suggestions and solutions for improving work and activities in the field to the MEAL Senior Officer and ensuring follow-up on the actions to be taken.
- Collecting learning information and lessons learned from project implementation and sharing them with the MEAL Senior Officer.
- Reviewing data and verifying its quality.
- Hold periodic meetings with field teams within the project to discuss difficulties, obstacles, and the level of achievement to improve the level of performance.
- Create a database for reports and all files related to the project and archive them to facilitate access to them at any time.
- Follow up on the work and outputs of data entry officers in the office and in the targeted governorates and follow up on all project data and reports, review them, and verify their accuracy and validity.
- Assisting in analyzing data and documenting success cases.
- Participating in the continuous development of the quality of work in MedGlobal.
- Encouraging and promoting a culture of positivity, professionalism and respect at work.
- Any other tasks assigned by the direct manager within the framework of the job position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
MEAL Officer should have the following skills, education, and experience:
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Native proficiency in Arabic with basic knowledge of English.
- At least 3 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
- Strong proficiency in using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Proficient in designing surveys with prior experience.
- Proficient in using Kobo Toolbox or ODK with relevant experience.
- Team player with a collaborative spirit.
- Proven experience in designing and analyzing data collection tools.
- Effective communication skills.
- Familiarity and commitment to humanitarian standards.
