MEAL Officer At Save the Children

Save the Children International (SCI) is looking for energetic and hard-working woman and man to serve as MEAL Officer at the Kailahun Field Office. The Role: The MEAL Officer will lead on the implementation of the MEAL plan, systems and processes for the project, including accountability and feedback mechanisms, and all learning, review and evaluation activities in the district. The MEAL Officer will work to support implementation of the overall GAC ASRH Foundation MEAL system. S/he will assist MEAL team with activities, including data collection, database management and analysis, maintaining Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT), assisting with planning field visits, post-distribution monitoring, assessments and evaluations, as well as providing general support in data entry and management. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and guidance from Project Director and MEAL Specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree level in Social Science – Statistics, social work, sociology, Economics, Mathematics, computer science or equivalent field experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience of undertaking a MEAL related role in a development and humanitarian context.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience working with International Organisation.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Previous experience in development of data collection tools in digital platform such as Kobo collect
  • Previous relevant experience, in research such as data collection and analysis, and reporting
  • Strong skills in excel and other data management software such as Atlas-ti, SPSS and STATA
  • Experience in knowledge and database management
  • Experience in working with Save the Children and other organisations is an added advantage in data collection
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC’s child focus mandate and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
  • Planning, organisation and administration skills
  • IT literate
  • Experience in using participatory methodologies in programme implementation, preferably involving children.
  • Good understanding of children and/or family issues, as well as issues of discrimination, diversity, and inclusion
  • An understanding of and commitment to, the values of Save the Children, especially a child-rights approach to programming.
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude
  • Experience in working with community members of diverse background
  • Excellent Interview skill
  • Strong analytical and listening skill.
  • Motorbike riding skills with valid license are considered a plus.

CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 Months
