MEAL Officer Eastern Ukraine* At Welthungerhilfe

The position is open to Ukranian nationals only and to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. The employment location will be Poltava, Ukraine.

Alliance15 members Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Concern Worldwide and Cesvi are working together in Ukraine using their combined resources and reach, to ensure a quick and effective emergency response to assist the crisis-affected population. This response, known as JERU (Joint Emergency Response Ukraine), is working inside of Ukraine to support conflict affected communities. As a MEAL Officer for our Joint Emergency Response Ukraine (JERU), your aim will be to provide MEAL support to our programme or projects in Eastern Ukraine.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the MEAL Manager and MEAL Coordinator to elaborate standardized data collection tools and implementation of MEAL Plan on field-level
  • Train and supervise enumerators in data collection for MEAL activities
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits for JERU and Partner activities in order to foster learning and adaptive management inside the JERU mission
  • Provide support to local partners – based on their specific needs, sharing standardized data collection tools, monitoring feedback and recommendations, and strengthening their MEAL internal capacity
  • Update project and programme monitoring tools on a monthly basis, in coordination with programme and partner staff
  • Draft analysis and reports after data collection, under the supervision of the MEAL Manager
  • Conduct regular capacity assessment visits to stakeholders (local partners, local authorities, humanitarian hubs, collective centers, etc) and assess their needs in terms of MEAL
  • Support the smooth functioning of JERU CRM (Complaint and Response Mechanism) in coordination with CRM assistant(s)

Your profile

  • Relevant professional qualification/formal vocational training with additional qualifications
  • 4 years of job-related professional experience
  • Strong MS Teams skills
  • Willingness to travel within Ukraine
  • Fluency in Ukrainian
  • Russian and or English language skills are an asset
