Overview:
MiCT is seeking an analyst and Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator who will support in a project centered around story-telling and restorative justice in Iraq. This position will require the analyst to review portrayals of restorative justice in Iraq and review the media produced in the project. The analyst wil focus and research on fundamental aspects of the restorative justice perspective, its many manifestations, and examine how this perspective is portrayed to the public with the media productions and how they address (in)justices. The consultant should understand and design basic primary research objectives to assess what the articles portray, how they do this, and who is included in their coverage and common themes.
Deliverables:
- Design, develop, and implement the M&E framework that monitors the project from start to finish.
- Collaborate with the project team in identifying project activities, processes and/or outcomes that are worthy of documentation, and design a system for capturing lessons learned/best practices and integrating them within the project cycle.
- Design and implement participant engagement strategies, integration of qualitative and quantitative monitoring methods, and timely data collection, assuring data quality, managing the project database, performing statistical analyses, monitoring project progress, identifying and sharing lessons learned, writing reports.
- Full media content analysis that review concepts of restorative justice through the themes of the output and the impact they have on society.
Additional work:
- Work closely with the MiCT team and forward recommendations based upon results.
- Work remotely with other stakeholders through calls, emails and other online platforms
- Provide regularly updated reports on the status of implementation against the project goals and objectives to the Project Manager.
Required:
- Ability to work in a multicultural team
- Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) are essential.
- Master’s degree in international relations, social sciences, and or journalism.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in data journalism, economic, and media research/reporting in Iraq.
- Experience in digital research, data analysis, social media marketing, and political and economic reporting on workshops in Iraq.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in planning research, focus groups, and community discussions/panels.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with MS Access or other database software is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a decentralized network with a culturally diverse and international team.
- Ability to travel internationally for work in the field as needed.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience and familiarity with media and journalism related issues in Iraq.
- Experience in Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodologies.
