Media Attaché – Morocco At Seefar

Seefar, in collaboration with local stakeholders including educators, parents, influencers and young filmmakers, is leading an initiative in Morocco to raise awareness among adolescents aged 13-18 about the risks of irregular migration. To support this effort, Seefar is looking for a Media Officer based in or around Tangier/Rabat, Morocco.

As a Media Attaché, your primary duties will be to manage the project’s social media pages, as well as establish relationships with local media to promote the projects message. You will also provide support in the development of online engagement strategies, creative products, PR and media strategies, copywriting, and branding efforts. Your attention to detail, creative talent, and ability to deliver will be greatly appreciated. To be successful in this role, you must be empathetic and influential. You should also have strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.

To apply, you must have at least 5 years of experience in the field of communications and demonstrate an interest in working with vulnerable communities. Fluency in Moroccan Arabic is required, as is professional competence in French and English, both written and spoken.

Job conditions

This is a full-time position, for a duration of 9 months . While the majority of the work can be done remotely, you will be required to participate in some in-person tasks in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (speaking to the press, attending and reporting on events organized by the project, etc.).

Approximate start date: October 1, 2024

Remuneration: EUR 1,400 per month plus EUR 100 to cover communication and travel expenses.

It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that they are able to receive payments in EURO from abroad before applying for this position.

Selection criteria

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of communication;
  • Based in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region;
  • Strong experience in developing media content, particularly content for social networks;
  • Strong photography and video editing skills;
  • Experience in digital and marketing campaigns (creation, implementation and analysis of campaign metrics to optimize results);
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills, with an ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with local teams and media;
  • Preferably thematic expertise on migration and human trafficking issues;
  • Fluency in Moroccan Arabic. Professional competence in French and English, written and spoken;
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups and a thorough understanding of confidentiality;
  • Access to a stable internet connection.

Job Description

Here are the main responsibilities of the role.

Implementation: implementation of the project and the mission

  • Research and development of the campaign message;
  • Implementation of online engagement strategies, public relations and media strategies;
  • Collaboration with social media influencers to promote the campaign;
  • Development of creative communications and multimedia content for publication;
  • Supervision and development of content for online platforms;
  • Managing campaigns on social media platforms using Ads Manager for META (like dynamic ads and carousel ads);
  • Social media content testing for successful ramp-up of the most impactful ads;
  • Digital analytics headache and content adaptation based on digital insights;
  • Liaison with local media; communication with the press and participation in radio and television broadcasts;
  • Participation and documentation of events (participant interviews, photography, etc.);
  • Proposing and testing new ideas to capture the attention of the target audience;
  • Provision of media capacity support to project partners;
  • Contribution to donor reporting;
  • Coordination with the HQ project management team throughout project implementation;
  • Regular reporting on the progress of your work to your supervisor;
  • Other communication related tasks as required.
