Objectives

The Medical Document Translator, under the supervision of Head of Medical Strategy, will be responsible for providing translation services / support covering a broad range of medical documents dealt with by the organization including, but not limited to, guidelines, standard operating procedures, protocols, handbooks, manuals, training materials, etc.

Main responsibilities

  • Produce self-reviewed French medical translations, in keeping with guidelines, SOPs, glossaries and established terminology.
  • Consult with subject-matter experts to clarify ambiguities.
  • Guarantee consistency of language, terminology, and style across translations.
  • Assist in building glossaries and provide feedback.
  • Seek and incorporate feedback from others in relation to translation quality.
  • Occasionally translate other material as required, including, but not limited to, material that will be used in conferences and workshops, questionnaires, and reports.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing.

Job requirements

Education

  • B.A. or B.S. required, preferably in linguistics or translations. Medical interpreter/translator certification is a plus.
