The MYA Research Officer will be responsible to carry out the activities related to energising young researchers on both shores of the Mediterranean to address Euro-Med issues to engage policymakers and civil society and ensure proper dissemination and exploitation of results and overall outreach with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and broader audiences under the direction of the MYA Programme Leader and the ALF Public Policies Manager.
The MYA Research Officer will also assess and evaluate the activities carried out, incorporating regularly monitoring procedures, impact assessments, and lessons learned approaches and coordinate and collaborate closely with the rest of the MYA team and with the different ALF Units.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the correct and timely implementation of activities and related services and contracts in accordance with the targets, outputs, outcomes and calendar concerning young researchers’ empowerment
- Elaborate comprehensive periodic reports -narrative and financial- and other formal documentation -calls, ToR, guidelines, templates, forms, and other support tools
- Assess and evaluate the activities carried out, incorporating regularly monitoring procedures, impact assessments, and lessons learned approaches
- Ensure close coordination and collaboration with the rest of the MYA team and with the different ALF Units
- Ensure alignment and cross-fertilisation between the targets, outputs, and outcomes of the MYA evidence based research programme and the strategic objectives and operations of the ALF Public Policies Unit
- Perform any other function related to the position requested by the hierarchy
Requisites:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline related to this position’s key responsibilities
- Minimum five years of proven experience in the formulation, management and reporting of EC projects
- Minimum five years of proven experience organising multi-stakeholder events
- Minimum three years of proven experience in revising and editing Euro-Med evidence-based policy documents
- Minimum three years of proven experience related to European Institutions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Assets:
- Specialisation in European or Euro-Mediterranean studies
- Knowledge of the Euro-Mediterranean policy framework
- Proficiency in French & Arabic
