PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The purpose of the consultancy is to equip PAH as the organization as well as local and international staff with a framework, awareness and skills on how to deal with mental health issues in their daily operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

With close collaboration with global Safety and Security Advisor, the Consultant will take the role of an internal advisor and undertake the following tasks:

  • Provide technical psychological support with recommendations around organizational mental health/wellbeing issues
  • Develop a staff wellbeing strategy
  • Conduct debriefing training (stress, trauma, burnout identification and first response) for managers at PAH Head Quarters level
  • Conduct Psychological First Aid Training (Train the Trainer session) for selected staff HQ and Country offices level
  • Conduct communication with beneficiaries training (possibly people who experienced trauma) for selected staff
  • Conduct MH Needs Assessment in PAH country offices and develop a plan of action to incorporate a wellbeing strategy and awareness raising activities
  • Conduct Stress Management Workshops for PAH HQ and Country Offices staff
  • Other training around mental health and well-being: upon agreement and needs
  • Support the development of a local psychological support system for the Country Offices
  • Travel to areas of operations after a critical incident or to support technically – upon availability and prior mutual agreement
  • Support PAH crisis response teams
  • Other tasks within this scope upon mutual agreement

The service time expectation is 10 hours of work per week, 2 3-weeks long international visits per year based on agreed timeline, workshops / training delivered in person at PAH HQ Warsaw.

The successful candidate will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:

Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in mental health, psychology, social work, or other related field
  • Specialized courses in stress management, and psychological first aid/response
  • Psychotherapy, corporate wellbeing courses/certifications will be an asset

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the mental health / stress management field, including experience in supporting organisations in wellbeing area
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in providing mental health / stress management training, workshops and support in an international context, preferably in INGO sector
  • Experience in developing organization actions plans, manuals, strategies and guidelines documents
  • Familiarity with developing local psychological support systems and adapting strategies to different cultural contexts
  • Experience in work among people who experienced trauma

    Training and Workshop Facilitation:

  • Proven track record in designing, organizing and delivering various training programs related to mental health, stress management and wellbeing

    Crisis Response and Field Support:

  • Willingness and ability to travel to PAH countries of operations for technical support as well as supporting organization in emergencies and crisis response

    Other essential skills:

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders in challenging and dynamic environments
  • Excellent understanding of dynamics of working in diverse cultural contexts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs and tasks within the scope of mental health and wellbeing support
  • Full professional proficiency in English language; full professional /working proficiency in Polish, Ukrainian, Arabic and/or French languages would be advantageous
