Focus on our activities in the DRC
Our mission in the DRC has existed since 2001. PUI is developing its integrated approach there with projects in primary health and the fight against malnutrition. PUI operates in Ituri with health and nutrition projects, and in North Kivu through an integrated approach to emergency health and nutrition supplemented by food security activities.
And the MHPSS Coordinator – Kinshasa in all this?
As a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Coordinator (MHPSS Co), you will be responsible for the development and application of the mission’s MHPSS operational strategy as well as the quality of MHPSS programs. current and future in the definition, implementation monitoring and evaluation phases. You will strengthen the capacities of the mission’s MHPSS department and provide technical support to the project teams and in particular to the MHPSS project managers in a functional relationship. You will ensure the representation of PUI to authorities, humanitarian actors and donors for the MHPSS sector.
To this end, your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Context Analysis / Strategy / Development: You will participate in the development of the MHPSS operational strategy and contribute to the development of new relevant MHPSS interventions on the mission based on the needs identified in the country, respecting the framework. PUI MHPSS intervention. In coordination with the MHPSS team, you will monitor MHPSS activities in the country and analyze their strengths and weaknesses.
- Program Quality: You will provide functional technical support in your field of expertise to the program teams, in particular to MHPSS program managers, and will ensure the quality and effectiveness of the mission’s MHPSS program(s).
- Representation / Coordination: You will ensure sectoral representation in MHPSS of PUI with partners, donors, national authorities and local actors. You will represent PUI in meetings of relevant Clusters (Health, Protection) or sectoral coordination group in MHPSS. You will contribute to the good circulation of information in the MHPSS sector.
- Human resources / Training: You will provide technical support to project teams and in particular to SMSPS teams. You will provide support to project managers for the recruitment of technical staff in MHPSS. In collaboration with the Head of Mission (CDM) and/or the Program Assistant CDM and the MHPSS Referent at headquarters, you will identify the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and gaps of the MHPSS department . You will supervise the content of MHPSS training and the quality of MHPSS activities (including clinical supervision) based on identified needs.
- Logistics and administration: You will ensure that the teams under your responsibility respect logistics and administrative procedures and will keep the logistics and administrative departments informed of any relevant developments.
- Security: You will contribute to compliance with security rules on the mission and transmit all information relating to security to your line manager and/or to the security manager of the mission.

What you will need to succeed
- Training : You can prove that you have a higher diploma as a clinical psychologist. If you are also trained in psychological intervention (e.g. cognitive and behavioral therapy) this will be an asset.
- Experience : You have at least 3 years of experience in implementing MHPSS programs, 2 years of clinical practice in mental health or psychosocial support and prior experience abroad with an NGO. Have you held positions related to clinical projects with migrants/displaced people, victims of conflict, survivors of S/GBV and survivors of torture? This will be greatly appreciated. Have you already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? This will be an undeniable asset!
- Skills : You are a good communicator, both written and oral, master program management and MHPSS project management. Knowledge of institutional donor procedures (OFDA, ECHO, AAP, UN agencies, etc.) will be valued.
- Required qualities : You are able to work independently and assume responsibilities in a proactive approach, with good management of priorities and workload. With a strong commitment to humanitarian principles and good resistance to stress, you demonstrate open-mindedness, good analytical skills and are proactive.
- Languages : French and English hold no secrets for you? Good, it’s essential for this position! If you also speak Arabic, this will be an undeniable asset.

PUI will offer you
- Status: Executive on Fixed-Term Contract
- Gross monthly salary: 2,650.00 – 3,130.00 EUR depending on your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI

- Break regime: 5 working days at 3 and 9 months of mission + break bonus
