SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams – 3,200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
The mission
Since 1980, SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been helping people affected by crises around the world and has established itself as a major player in the fight for universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and in the fight against waterborne diseases worldwide. SI began its interventions in France in March 2020 to respond to the consequences of the health crisis. Designed as an emergency intervention, the mission has developed to respond to the challenges of access to water and sanitation for “unconnected” populations in situations of great precariousness on French territory, particularly those living in precarious housing sites (shanty towns, squats, etc.).
General objective:
The accounting support officer supports the Financial and Administrative Coordinator or the support coordinator in processing Solidarités International’s accounting operations on the mission.
He/she assists the financial and administrative coordinator or the support coordinator in supervising the correct application on the bases and through the coordination of the Solidarités International rules and procedures concerning the commitment and monitoring of expenses.
Main Challenges:
– Knowledge of accounting management
– Compliance with the accounting calendar
Priorities for the first 2/3 months:
– Understanding of the mission’s accounting mechanisms
– Getting started with SAGA accounting software
– Accounting integration
IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
A salaried position: Depending on experience, from EUR 2508 gross per month.
Part-time position (2.5 days per week), i.e. a pro rata of EUR 1254.
Position based in Marseille.
