SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams – 3,200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

The mission

Since March 2020, SI has been working in France to address the challenges of water, hygiene and sanitation insecurity in five territories. In partnership with the Water and Sanitation operators of metropolitan areas and their Foundations, its projects target people living in degraded sites such as shanty towns or squats and who have limited access to basic services, in terms of drinking water, sanitation, and access to essential hygiene products. SI’s strategy consists of supporting local stakeholders in their search for concrete solutions, by proposing to improve the sanitary conditions of the sites, in particular through the installation of drinking water supplies, sanitation infrastructure and by developing pilot projects adapted to the context of each intervention area.

General objective:

Under the supervision of the field coordinator, the Logistics and Finance Manager ensures administrative, accounting, financial and logistics management in compliance with donor and Solidarités International procedures. He/she organizes logistical and administrative support for the programs, is the guarantor of the financial and logistical procedures of Solidarités International. He/she is responsible for supervising all of the mission’s logistics activities. He/she assists the field coordinator, the community mobilizer and the WASH program manager in the implementation of distribution activities in the field and in the application of safety rules.

The Logistics & Finance Manager is based in Nantes.

Main Challenges:

– Duality of log and admin position

– Prioritization

– Manage lessor payments and invoicing

Priorities for the first 2/3 months:

– Understanding program needs
– Monitoring purchases
– Financial monitoring documents

A salaried position: Depending on experience, from EUR 2865 gross per month (€2579 basic salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly).

Training:

Training studies in financial or humanitarian management, logistics or accounting.

EXPERIENCE IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR: 0-2 years
EXPERIENCE IN EQUIVALENT POSITION: 0-2 years

Experience and technical skills:

Technical skills

1. Logistics and financial management
2. Mastery of Excel IT tools
3. Mastery of SAGA and LINK software is a plus

Cross-disciplinary skills

1. Relational sense (link partners, teams, beneficiaries, etc.)
2. Autonomy & prioritization
3. Knowing how to juggle between different areas of expertise
