Description of tasks

The PBI Colombia Project receives funding from around 16 European and North American entities; the fundraising target for 2024 – 2025 is around 800,000 Euros. The central objective of the position is to secure income for the financial stability of the Project.

Responsibilities of the Monitoring and Fundraising Coordinator:

  • Design and implement the annual fundraising strategy for the Colombia Project.
  • Plan, develop and execute the strategy for resource management, including the search for new sources of financing.
  • Write an overall funding proposal and accountability reports in coordination with other parts of the organization
  • Formulation of specific projects and budgets in coordination with the other parts of the organization, in Spanish and English.
  • Coordinate with PBI National Groups the presentation of applications and reports to
    funding agencies.
  • Represent PBI Colombia before funders; participate in meetings and follow up.
  • Participate in the PBI International Fundraising Working Group to agree global strategies and exchange good practices.
  • Stay informed about the situation in Colombia and the activities of the Project.
  • Systematization of data for monitoring the activities and impact of PBI Colombia for accountability (Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation)
  • Participate in the monthly meetings of the Administration and Finance Committee, which plans and monitors budget execution.
  • Coordinate with the financial team the institutional audits of donors and the financial control of the organization.
  • Represent the Monitoring and Finance area in the PBI Colombia Project Assembly and in strategic decision-making, providing the necessary financial information.
  • Conduct timely visits to field teams, as needed, and provide training on financial issues within the organization.
  • Collaborate in PBI Colombia’s internal debates and consensus processes, including those that address overcoming racism and other oppressions.

Profile and essential requirements

  • Demonstrated experience of 2 years in fundraising and project management (formulation, monitoring and justification) of cooperation agencies, foundations and others.
  • Relevant university studies (international cooperation, international relations, communications, social sciences or related fields) or relevant experience in similar positions.
  • Professional command of Spanish and English in reading, writing and speaking is essential (mother tongue or higher education).
  • Professional proficiency in relevant programs (the entire Office suite; knowledge of other programs will be an advantage).
  • High ability to work in a team and in horizontal structures that require a lot of respect, tolerance and empathy: the services provided will be carried out under the organizational principle of “non-hierarchy”.
  • Ability to plan tasks specific to their area with great autonomy.
  • Flexibility in the times dedicated to the service and the ability to provide service under pressure, in situations of constant emergency and unforeseen events to meet established deadlines.

Desirable qualities and knowledge

  • Overview of the mission of NGOs and international agencies.
  • Knowledge and commitment to PBI’s mission.
  • Accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the human rights situation in Colombia.
  • Ability to perform tasks in a multicultural environment.

Job conditions

This position will be located in Bogotá. The contract will be for 2 years, extendable, with a trial period of 3 months, a 42-hour work week, and 25 days of vacation, plus Colombian national holidays.

  • Salary: 4,650,000 COP net per month (13 annual payments).
  • Family policy of 450,000 COP per child per month.
  • Contribution to the Colombian health, social security and pension system.
  • Prepaid medicine insurance.
  • Flight in and out, if you are outside of Colombia.
  • Support of 390 euros for an annual flight to the country of origin.
  • Support for installation costs if you are located outside of Colombia.
