MSF-OCBA is looking for a WEB SUPPORT & MIGRATION OFFICER (BASED IN SPAIN) at Médecins Sans Frontières

GENERAL CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

The MSF movement is built around six operational directorates. MSF OCBA is one of those directorates. The operations are implemented by field teams and the mission coordination teams; together with the organizational units based in Barcelona and decentralized in Nairobi, Dakar and Amman. The field operations are guided and supported by 5 Operational Cells, the Emergency Unit and other departments supporting operations, including the Communication and Fundraising Departments.

JOB GENERAL OBJECTIVE AND CONTEXT

The MSF OCBA digital unit aims to transform the quality and impact of OCBA’s digital engagement with its audiences – in Spain, and around the world. We work with other departments in MSF to identify ways that digital can help them to achieve their engagement objectives, and then support them in grasping these opportunities.

To deliver this transformation, in 2022 we need to create a new website to deliver an outstanding digital supporter experience, in terms of recruitment, communications and fundraising. The Web Content Migration Officer plays a supporting role in ensuring that we can deliver, together with the Product Owner (PO), the website on time, with the defined features to fulfill all departments’ needs, whilst ensuring the final product quality hand in hand with the Product Owner.

The Web Content Migration Officer will assist the Digital Team to migrate our website from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9. Your primary responsibility will be to organize the workload, coordinate the timeline together with the Product Owner, and to move existing content from the old website to the new website, rework content as necessary, process images and add to website, and assist in inventory and cleanup of web content together with the Content Manager and in coordination with the Product Owner At the same time you will assist de Product Owner in maintaining the current website.

You will be experienced in working with and following up the development or use of key digital tools including those for content management (Drupal, WordPress), marketing (CRO), payment management (Trustly, Stripe, PayPal, StepOrange), SEO, engagement, and experience design (UI, UX), optimisation and management (Google Optimise, InVision, Adobe Experience Manager).

Finally, you will be extremely results-driven, always keen to ensure that projects are delivered on time.

The position is hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Product Owner. The Digital Unit sits between the Communications and Fundraising Departments, but this and other positions in the team additionally work with Human Resources.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Support the Product Owner (PO) in defining, the strategy in terms of MPV considering the needs of HR, Comms & Fundraising departments.
  • Work with the PO to ensure the coordination with the rest of stakeholders.
  • Together with the PO, manage changes to project scope, identify potential issues and devise contingency plans.
  • Support the Digital Team (in terms in content cleanup and migration efforts)
  • Maintain a close liaison with internal teams as well as agencies (SEO, UX…), designers and developers during projects to ensure all elements delivered as scheduled.
  • Support the PO in coordinating and prioritizing to make sure project deadlines and milestones are met.
  • Coordinate, along with the PO, that the backlog is being respected by the website developing provider.
  • Using content from existing pages create compelling web pages using the same or new images and text.
  • Ensure content edits are tracked and migrated to the new CMS in the build-up to launch
  • Assist in setting up and populating new site structure
  • Selecting, sizing, and editing photographs for the new CMS
  • Use established web accessibility guidelines to ensure content meets WCAG 2.0 compliance
  • Document, scope, track and test fixes to bugs and issues with digital products.
  • Update the sitemap
  • Test, test and test to ensure the quality of the MVP before it is uploaded in production.
  • Assisting with CMS training for new and existing editors
  • Using Excel, track all content on the old and new website
  • Identify & monitor clear metrics of success for digital products and provide regular reporting on product performance, developments, and projects.
  • Work with the Digital Analyst to develop, rollout and evaluate tests to improve user experience or system functionality and working (Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Participate in team meetings, planning processes and other internal processes as required.
  • Support the PM in managing the current and future website:
  • Managing Google Tag Manager.
  • Liaises with other areas to gather business requirements, perform user research, and lead the documentation process for each product.
  • Define, Evaluate, analyze, and understand the requirements translating them into backlog
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the day-to-day product backlog with the product owner supervision
  • Facilitate working sessions to drive and define new requirements or changes and serve as Note Taker
  • Understand business processes/problems to discuss with developers and designers
  • Define business and system use cases and verify that the requirements are testable

SELECTION CRITERIA

· Academic Background: An advanced degree in computer science, engineering or business

· Experience in managing change acceptance & transitioning

· Experience in risk management

· Experience with applicable project controlling tools

· Experience in MSF

· Used to work in matrix reporting environment with various stakeholders.

· Previous experience on managing a website migration highly desirable.

· Spanish required; English highly desirable;

· Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools is an asset

· Field experience in humanitarian projects with MSF or other organizations is an asset

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

· Knowledge of the following:

o Web Architecture

o Google Analytics/Bots

o Content Management System technology (Drupal, WordPress, etc.);

o Website design and testing;

o Website User Experience (UX);

o Digital marketing products and systems;

o Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and content design for the web;

o Good command of Microsoft Office and/or Open Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Intranet based on MS Sharepoint, Office 365

o Proficient knowledge of communication & Project Management tools

· Knowledge of the following is highly desirable:

o Agile methodologies

o Database MySql, web server software;

o Cloud ecosystems;

o Mobile solutions;

o Salesforce suite of products and / or other CRMs;

o DevOps.

  • Annual gross salary: HQ-3Aeuros (divided in 12 monthly payments) + secondary benefits according to MSF OCBA policies.
