Main Responsibilities:
Local Data Collection Monitoring and Coordination
- Ensure continuous liaison and follow up with our data collection partner in Khartoum
- Conduct capacity development training activities on both qualitative and quantitative data collection, and quality assurance to our data collection partner
- Monitor and coordinate data collection efforts in Sudan
- Ensure quality of quantitative and qualitative data collected
- Support data collection processes as needed (for example conduct interviews, facilitate focus group discussions, etc…)
Voluntās Internal Processes
- Work on quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
- Assist in developing PowerPoint presentations
- Assist in drafting reports in MS Word format
- Support project implementation (research and evaluation assignments for example on gender, migration, governance, healthcare sector, etc…)
- Assist in writing reports and proposals for future projects
- Support in internal strategy processes
Main Competencies:
Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a strong asset
- Strong academic record in political science, law, mathematics, economics, international development, strategy, engineering, or other relevant fields
- Excellent written and spoken English and Sudanese/Modern Standard Arabic skills are required
- Good understanding of qualitative and quantitative data collection practices
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS, STATA)
- Familiarity with survey data collection tools (e.g. CSPro, ODK, ONA) is a strong asset
- Excellent knowledge of the Sudanese context

- Interest in international issues and focus areas of democratic governance, transitional and peace processes, employment, entrepreneurship, gender, and human rights
