At CIR we are looking for a Nutrition Officer for its operations in Zulia – Falcón. He will be responsible for providing technical support for the execution and proper functioning of quality nutritional activities (prevention, detection and treatment of malnutrition in children and pregnant women) of the partners in Venezuela, for this he will be in charge of accompanying the activities. partner clinics, will ensure the provision of high-quality health services to the target population in accordance with the logical framework, work schedule and budget plan.
All roles supporting the CIR program will require the highest level of discretion, with special attention to security protocol, to protect staff, partner organizations and beneficiaries.
Goals:
Provide technical support in health and nutrition activities to partners in the different states of the country, guaranteeing compliance with protocols and programmatic quality.
- Provide training in Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (ALNP-E), mother-to-mother groups.
- Guarantee the prevention of malnutrition (acute, chronic, micronutrient deficiencies), screening and diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of cases of acute malnutrition.
Main responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the Health Coordination, ensure the execution and organization of all the necessary elements for activities related to nutrition and health.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the partner in their health and nutrition activities.
- Supervise the clinical management of malnutrition diagnosed by members according to care protocols, national health and nutrition guidelines, and CIR quality standards.
- Ensure all consultations performed are documented and patient records completed, as well as other data collection tools.
- Carry out needs analysis of health centers and communities, in relation to nutritional supplies, equipment and material (anthropometric material) and specific medical supplies in health and nutrition.
- Coordinate with service providers for timely and appropriate access to medications and diagnostic services.
- Ensure that patient confidentiality is respected and that all consultations are conducted in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Accompany the partner in nutritional assessment consultations, verifying comprehensive monitoring, guaranteeing the nutritional recovery of users.
- Increase the capacity of partners in nutritional services, where appropriate (breastfeeding, mother-to-mother approach, family PB.)
- In collaboration with the Health Officer, contribute to proposing strategies and supervise hygiene promotion, health and nutrition education and advice to patients/caregivers.
- Propose awareness strategies on optimal feeding practices. to caregivers, pregnant women and lactating women.
- Design nutrition service models and achieve their articulation in health activities with the partner and the public service provision network
- Other tasks assigned by the health coordinator that are related to the contractual object and that allow the development of CIR programs.
Program Management and Technical Guidance
Support the Health Coordination in the analysis of the nutritional situation and the design of a nutrition program in Venezuela, including community outreach and the integration of nutrition services in health services, protection and education programs.
- Develop tools and processes for program implementation, monitoring, follow-up and team coordination.
- Support in the activities of monitoring and tracking the goals and results of the project, improving the quality of services, as well as the customer experience.
- Monitor, manage and verify data together with the health team and other members of the organization’s staff and propose corrective measures if necessary.
- In collaboration with MEAL, collect, calculate and analyze nutrition services indicators
- Monitor the nutritional situation in the intervention areas and in areas of possible interest, in order to notify possible communities that require nutritional attention, in order to propose an appropriate intervention to meet the needs of the population.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of information at the required frequency (weekly, monthly or quarterly), compilation and reporting of data in a timely manner.
- Provide support and mentoring to the team when necessary.
Coordination and Representation
- Articulate and establish a coherent link with partners from the health and nutrition sector, other organizations such as foundations, shelters, NGOs and state institutions such as the National Institute of Nutrition to achieve comprehensive and collective support for clients, in order to increase the ability to respond, share lessons and achieve synergies.
- Represent CIR and actively participate in the nutrition cluster.
Occupational health and safety responsibilities
Carry out the tasks derived from your employment contract subject to the safety and health standards at work, not only in defense of your own safety and health but also with respect to other workers and beneficiaries and to protect the facilities where you work, reporting dangerous conditions or situations to the immediate supervisor or to the internal bodies for the prevention of accidents and/or occupational diseases so that actions can be taken in a timely manner. They will use personal protective equipment correctly and maintain it in good condition, immediately informing the person responsible for its supply or maintenance of its loss, deterioration, expiration, or malfunction. They will report their health status and participate in training. Failure to comply with health and safety responsibilities and functions will be taken into account as serious misconduct, and will be cause for disciplinary processes and measures and/or termination of the employment contract.

Requirements:
Education:
- Title: Nutritionist or health professional with specialization in nutrition.
- Experience in nutrition work in emergencies and in the implementation of nutrition programs.
- Desirable: Experience in, previous work experience in emergency and unsafe environments
- Commitment to work through coordination systems to generate impact.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point).
Demonstrated skills and competencies:
