OB/GYN with leadership experience At GFA Consulting Group

We are preparing an offer for services in Sierra Leone and seek an experienced medical doctor with specialisation in OB/GYN and leadership/management experience for the Team Leader role.

The project will run for 26 months and start in November 2024. The focus will be on mentoring, trainings, capacity building, referral system improvement, quality management in the field of emergency obstetric and neonatal care.

The Team Leader will work with 2 local midwifes/nurse-midwifes and be responsible for

Output 1: Selected competencies of service providers in the health sector are strengthened in Kailahun, Kambia and Pujehun in a gender-sensitive manner.

• Support the training of 325 health care workers;
• Support the mentoring of 340 health care workers on EmONC and institutionalize
  a mentoring system in the 3 partner districts;
• Establish and institutionalize the use of 3 skills labs for EmONC mentoring/trainings.

Output 2: Capacities in the area of emergency obstetric and neonatal care are strengthened in selected health care facilities in Kailahun, Kambia and Pujehun

• Equipping health facilities with priority medical equipment for EmONC services;
• Support quality assurance in EmONC service delivery;
• Support the referral system in each district;
• Support DHMT in EmONC planning to improve readiness of EmONC services in each district.

Requirements:

• University degree in medicine with specialisation in obstetrics/gynaecology;
• 10 years of professional experience in the health sector;
• 5 years of professional experience in obstetrics/gynaecology;
• 4 years of management experience in projects,companies or other organisations with disciplinary leadership responsibility for at least 2 people;
• 10 years of professional experience in West Africa;
• 3 years of experience in development cooperation projects.
